Certified instructor description: For kids 3 to 6. More fun than “yoga poses”, this program features 26 kid-style movements and games inspired by animals, flowers, balloons, etc. Each movement and game is linked to a letter of the alphabet. For example, B is for butterfly. Cartoon and real butterflies appear on the screen while the kids flap their arms like wings. And your child will learn a simple rhyme of places that begin with “B”, from Boston to Burundi. The instructor is great with kids; she’s positive and very friendly (watching her do the same “silly” movements will encourage your child to participate). ©2003.

My family loves this video!! Our children are 7 and 5, the integration of movement, the alphabet, and fun animals makes it interesting. The kids actually request doing the video! Our children use a few of the moves/positions daily to help calm themselves down and to focus before settling in to do schoolwork. - posted by Mari on 10/4/2011
My Boys Love this DVD!
I got this for my boys ages 4 and 3 and they love it and I love it for the calming influence that the instructor has while still providing lots of motion. I do the DVD along with the boys and really enjoy it. The boys go to a home daycare and this DVD has become a hit there as well (boys ages 2 to 6) and they borrow it as a treat for snowy/rainy days. - posted by Paula on 10/26/2010
My 3yr old son loves this
He requests to do this several times a week. Gets him moving and he enjoys it. - posted by Naima on 11/12/2008
depends on your beliefs
This workout has great qualities. It's broken into short segments and teaches young kids yoga in a fun way. The instructor is great. The only issue someone might have is the song that teaches about Namaste ("the light in me bows to the light in you")...and maybe the "Ohm" part. If that is an issue you can avoid buying this workout or get it and just skip that part. - posted by Amber on 7/27/2007
A favorite
My almost four year old asks to do this video at least 3x per week. He really likes it and I bought him a purple Scooby-Doo yoga mat by Gaiam and he now thinks yoga is the greatest! - posted by Amy on 5/25/2007

My 5 year old LOVES this video!
My daughter is 5 years old and she / we just LOVE this video! (We do it toghether). She is very shy and I have wanted her to try yoga. I bought her this video and a little kids mat. The sweet shots of the kids having fun doing yoga and the concept of teaching the A B C s with animals and poses is brilliant! I tip my hat to Marsha who designed this program. Children actually get alot out of this DVD. - posted by Teri and Shane on 1/31/2006
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography

Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.
