Yoga for Your Pregnancy

Helped me through unmed labor!
I was in labor for fifteen hours total, three pushing, and doing this video in the months before labor REALLY helped me make it through. From what I recall (a lot of my labor memories are fuzzy!) I spent at least an hour or two in just one of the yoga positions b/c it helped relieve the pain in my back so much. I HIGHLY recommend this video! - posted by Amber on 3/3/2008
My Favorite Yoga Video
I have had three babies and given birth completely without medication or intervention for the last two. I have labored for over 100 hours during my lifetime and the last two births (a total of 55 hours) were carried through because of the strength I gained through yoga. I have used every single DVD/VHS for prenatal yoga that I could find but this is by far the one I used over and over again. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a decent yoga program they can use from the moment of the positive pregnancy test, right through the birth. - posted by Liz on 2/19/2008
Not My Kind of Yoga
While I'm sure this would be a more pleasing video to someone who practiced a style of yoga that incorporates rapid motion, It was not for me. I enjoy a yoga that is more medatative and more about lengthening and strengthening. - posted by Suzanne on 10/30/2007

okay video
If you want a nice, friendly, relaxing yoga tape, this is for you. I have been an avid exerciser for a few years and found this tape very easy and not at all challenging. The "energizing" routine does little to strengthen any muscles but does make me feel good. It provides a good stretch, and helps me feel positive about my growing body. - posted by jocelyn on 8/24/2006
Gentle and loving
I love this video! I have to admit it is definetley beginner, but perfect for me since I am 8 months pregnant. Doing these exercises, I know is going to help during labor. It is a gentle, loving video with lots of insite. - posted by Heidi on 8/9/2005
Love It
The DVD is great! The main workout is just the right length to get going in the morning, and provided stretching and stregthening. There is also a relaxing yoga segment (17 minutes), a guided meditation (5 minutes), a segment on how to use yoga while you're in labor, and a post-natal yoga segment. The instrutor is not pregnant (don't be fooled by the cover) but the two other participants are. This is great for Mom to be and her baby. - posted by Pregnant in Maryland on 4/14/2005
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
