Certified instructor description: Three solid body sculpting workouts that feature a huge variety of moves, positions and equipment types. Tracey maximizes results by carefully matching the rep count to each exercise (e.g. 60 reps on an easier series, only 10 reps on a harder one). The angles, tempos, weight levels and set counts are also structured to get the most from each routine. For even more variety, Tracey intermixes both isolated and compound exercises, often including a core/balance element. The first workout is upper-body focused; the second targets your glutes. The third, total-body segment, is much easier — it includes both Pilates and yoga. Has shorter premixed workout options. Requires dumbbells, a resistance band and a step. A Bosu and medicine ball are optional. ©2007. DVD has: 4 premixes (10 to 53-min. alternate workouts), Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Tracey Staehle's Parts Series

Fantastic targeted workouts!
Tracey is one of those hit-or-miss instructors, for me. I always like her personality and find her to be a lot of fun, but sometimes the workouts just don't flow well and lack a logical structure. Happily, that isn't the case with "The Parts Series", which is an all-round excellent video to have in rotation! For starters, it's always great to get multiple workouts on one DVD; who doesn't love a bargain? And here, especially with "Glute Camp" and "Strictly Upper Body", you're getting two very smart, focused workouts that allow you to really target one half of the body at a time, each providing a very good session. (I suppose if you have twice as much time on your hands, you could do both upper- and lower-body routines back-to-back, but if you do the exercises with good form--and you up the weights as needed--either workout, alone, can be plenty.) Finally, I love having another workout that incorporates the BOSU! (It is NOT necessary, no--so don't fret if you don't have one--but the moves make good, and different, use of it, which I really appreciate.) I don't see myself outgrowing--or growing tired of--this one any time soon. Nicely done, Tracey!! - posted by Diana on 4/28/2011
Good Workout
Straight forward strength workouts with a variety of moves. Good cueing. A bit chatty. Such a great value to have a variety of workouts on one DVD. - posted by Vickie on 4/20/2011
Awesome
What a buy for the money! Has 3 great workouts on it. Glute Camp was my favorite, love the music and the moves, goes by really fast. Total Body was fun and loaded with a lot of different options, nice short workouts. Upper body was tough but loved it. - posted by Christie on 3/13/2010
Great fun workout
The 45 min workouts are varied and move along fast! I was sore the day after the arm workout. I really like the compound and functional moves that keep your core involved while other parts are working. (I only have Tracey's Results video that I really like too, but I like her, she is different.) I also like that she uses the Bosu and that there are 3 complete workouts. I have only done the 3 separate workouts, but there are premixes, too that I have to check out. This is a great video there is so much to offer! I didn't give it 5 stars because I didn't get into the pilates workout so much, but it might just be me. - posted by Denise on 11/3/2009
A real workout
Like others before me, I also give it 5 stars. Tracey has some bad DVDs and then some really good ones. This is a good one! Just the right amount of chatter, good pace, music and toughness. (I can't stand all the sissy workouts available). My personal favorite is the upper body workout, there are a few new twists to old exercises that keep me interested. I admit, I didn't like Tracey right away (in other workouts), but she really grew on me and is now one of my favorites, and she does know her stuff. - posted by holly on 3/9/2009
Blast
The best DVD on the market! Great variety of moves that can be done moderate or advanced. The instruction is really inspiring. I haven't enjoyed a workout this much in a while. - posted by Jackie on 1/13/2009
Great Value
I couldn't believe all you I get with this DVD. Three awesome workouts in one. Glute Camp cooked my lower body while keeping a smile on my face and total body was perfect for my light workout days. The upper body section had some cool moves that really worked my muscles. Excellent value and time flew by - great music too. - posted by Hope on 1/13/2009
I like that Tracey lets us know she's working
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I mean no disrespect but I LIKE that Tracey says she's working hard. I like that she calls an exercise difficult or says she feels it. Sometimes the instructors seem so fit, so unattainably fit that I can get discouraged. I know I workout for myself but some instructors intimidate rather than inspire me. Tracey inspires me. I love glute camp, it's a great blend of standing and floorwork. I can feel the moves, the time passes quickly and there's no dread factor. I typically use Jari and Amy for upper body work but for a short workout Tracey's strickly upperbody is effective. I have not yet done the totalbody segment. I really like this dvd. - posted by kelly on 12/6/2008
Seeing definition and muscles
I can see that the reviews are mixed on this, but I've seen great definition and results from doing this dvd. I'm one of those people that really has to work to see any definition in their muscles and let me tell you strangers have commented on my defined arms. It has no dread factor for me at all. I have gotten great results in the past with Cathe but a lot of her dvd's have a big dread factor for me and I have no patience for a lot of equipment changes etc. I have extremely limited space and The Parts workout is very space friendly. I love that I can do the upper and lower on the same day or split it if I wish. I haven't done any of the pre-mixes so I can't comment on them. All in all this has been a winner for me. - posted by Carolyn on 10/23/2008
great 2 day split
I love this DVD because there is no dread factor. It's still tough and effective but it's not endless and doesn't leave me wiped out. I use this as a 2 day split and then I 'll do a total body workout on the third day. The total body workout on this is nice but I use it more for light days. Very worthwhile purchase. - posted by sneakers on 10/5/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
