Certified instructor description: A fast-paced, ballet-style workout that includes elements of yoga, Pilates and classical dance. It's all designed to tone your upper body while also tightening your buttocks (e.g. the beginning segment strengthens your arms with bicep curls, while engaging your abs and working your legs with pulsed pliés). That's followed by "barrework" -- a smooth-flowing sequence of lunges, squats, leg lifts and curtseys (holding the back of a chair). The program ends with Pilates abwork and a series of deep stretches. Tracey maximizes the interest and intensity with accelerated movements, high reps, varied tempos and challenging positions. Requires 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells; a squeezable ball is used in one short segment. ©2011. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Tracey Mallett's Booty Barre Plus Abs & Arms

Omg, I thought I was in pretty good shape!
I have worked out for years with very challenging workouts. Weight bearing and cardio. I was bored so I decided to try the booty barre workout. It is awesome, I am already seeing results in my legs and booty. My thighs are getting leaner, longer and stronger. Not to mention my abs too. Yay! This workout is tough but excellent! I highly recommend it! - posted by Angela on 5/11/2012
Love this DVD
This DVD is such a great challenge! The problem I have with most DVDs is that they are not challenging enough and I get bored. This Booty Barre DVD is great! The arms are a killer and I've had a friend ask me what I've been doing because my arms are much more toned! I even had my husband do this with me at home and he said he loved it too! And it was a great challenge for him as well!! I love the combination of strength exercises and cardio as I don't always have time to do both. Keep it coming Tracey!! - posted by Melissa on 1/16/2012
Good but....
This is a good workout no doubt, however I have had it for about 5 months and only done it a handful of times if that tells you anything. I have a little bit of a dread factor when thinking of this dvd. It is not that it's a bad workout I rather like the instructor, I think for me it's just too long, too challenging in some areas and too fast paced and I am an intermediate exerciser. Also, my knees really hurt me the next day after doing this. I realize it could just be my body ( I do have joint issues) or my form while doing the dvd, but In the future I am going to try her newer "shorter" dvd. - posted by Kristie on 12/29/2011
Gets your butt in shape!
This DVD is fast paced and I definitely feel the burn from all the ballet barre and pilates style toning. I was pleasantly surprised by the cardio benefits as the DVD is described as toning only. My heart rate got up (as if I was on a brisk walk) and I really like the fact that I got cardio and toning in one workout. Yes, this is a long DVD but I was looking for a longer barre workout because as the DVD I already own is about 45 minutes in length. I feel like my time is well spent with the Booty Barre. I get a workout head to toe and then a nice, long stretch. - posted by Ruby on 11/7/2011
Booty Barre
This will not get your heart pumping out of your chest, BUT you will get an excellent conditioning on all the important parts. It's long but broken into segments that are doable if you're pressed for time. I do a fair amount of weight work and cardio and this was a great one to add in for variety since I work out 6 days/week--all at home--and lost the ability to run. I find it challenging. She cues well and is easy to watch without feeling either yelled at or overdosed with sugar. - posted by April on 11/1/2011
This is a good one.....
This is my first Booty Barre workout that I have ever done and I will confess ____ it is a lot harder then I thought it would be. I chose this one because I like Tracey and I wanted the arm work as well as the lower body. The workout is very good and Tracey is wonderful with her cuing. I really love the fact that Tracey does the workout with us. I will buy more of her videos but I do not think they will be Barre workouts. - posted by Cindy on 10/31/2011
Love this workout!
I'm a marathoner but always look for ways to change up my workouts. I mix in Jari Love and Cathe Friedrich workouts with my runs but wanted something new. I came across this video one day searching through Collage Videos website and loved the preview. It is a tough workout and I don't care what my day looks like, the fact that it's over an hour is part of the attraction. It works every part of the body and is fun and fluid. I was sweating after the arm section and loved that this hits all areas of the lower body. It's now a regular part of my weekly workouts. - posted by Suzie on 10/22/2011
MORE ARMWORK PLEASE....
I loved this booty barre plus abs & arms. I really need to work my arms and upper body to get leaner and get rid of the back and bra fat. I agree with Lola's comment....PLEASE COME OUT WITH A DVD THAT ATTACKS BACK, BRA AND ARM FAT....MANY REPETITIONS. PLEASE TRACEY....TKS. - posted by Celina on 10/21/2011
LOVE IT! arm work great...
This workout is better than her other Booty barre because there is more variety, not just the booty work...I love arm work and the only complaint I have is that the armwork SHOULD HAVE BEEN LONGER, it lasted 14 minutes. STACEY, PLEASE COME OUT WITH ONE DVD WITH ONLY ARMWORK..TARGET THE BRA FAT AND BACK FAT WHICH MANY WOMEN HAVE...The core work is great, abs good and booty barre great, I could feel the burn.... - posted by Lola on 10/21/2011
Great workout if you have time to do it!
This is a great video to change things up from intense weight training/cardio videos like Bob Harper's advanced series. I am an advanced exerciser, but not very flexible, so some of the moves are very challenging, and I wind up in a sweat at the end. The cuing is excellent and targets muscles that don't ordinarily get attention. Only complaint is to get through it takes an hour and twenty minutes and I find that I wind up skipping some of the last twenty minutes. - posted by Felice on 10/21/2011
