The Firm: Ultimate Fat-Burning Collection |
    Ok but not great |
| I have a ton of Firm videos but this one is not one of my favorites. I find the choreography unnecessarily complicated and a little awkward - it seems like they were trying to make it interesting but it just didn't work. I get it - I mean, how many ways can you do squats and lunges - but it's just not that fun. And this isn't a deal breaker to me but Emily's chatter is unnecessary and, at times, annoying. The kickboxing is probably the best of the bunch - and I don't really like kickboxing, so that says a lot. - posted by Cheryl on 5/1/2012 |

I think I will return this one |
| I am an instructor, and I bought this video for class ideas. I have to say this video is pretty useless to me. Alison teaches the cardio with "taps." Did taps not go out of style in the 90's??? It makes it more difficult then it needs to be, and so many of the cardio sections do not flow well. Also, Emily over-cues in the burn and shape video, which makes it start to get annoying. - posted by Lori on 2/1/2012 |

    I love this dvd. |
| This is my second Firm workout that I've purchased, the first being many years ago when they were doing their ridiculously named "fannylifter" dvds. Despite the dumb name, I loved that workout and find that the four on this dvd are even better. I find the cueing really well done and that the moves are easy to pick up once you understand what they're calling each step (ie understand their "Firm" lingo). What I really love about it is how quickly I see results. After working out just 4 times a week with these programs, I see a difference in about 3 weeks time. I love the way my clothes fit better and how much stronger I feel. Getting results so quickly is the best way to keep me coming back to this dvd over and over again. Additionally, the workouts are not too long and as a busy mom I appreciate that I can fit these in. I highly recommend this dvd. - posted by Kirsti on 10/28/2011 |

So far, not so good |
| I bought this dvd a few months ago, but just opened it and started using it today, as I had other favorites that I was cycling through. I wish that I had tried it out right away because I really would like to return it. I think.
I did the fusion workout- correction- I did 20 minutes of the fusion workout, and I gave up out of frustration with the complicated choreography. I'm going to try the other workouts, maybe they aren't as difficult, choreography-wise.
To give you an idea of my abilities, I'm not particularly good at complicated moves, but I'm reasonably strong and able to keep up aerobically with intermediate workouts. - posted by kristin on 10/20/2011 |

Not For the "Over 50" crowd |
| I am 56 years old & have been working out every day for almost 10 years now. I go from Pilates to strength training & weights & power walking. This video should emphasis the PACE of the video. I was panting & sore after doing the workout - plus I did not even finish it! I might have done better if they were to have slowed it down somewhat. For me, I should have gone on the website & did the video preview - lesson learned! I will be sending this video back to Collage -- it was too difficult for me! - posted by Diane on 10/20/2011 |

    Not even okay |
| The Firm instructors do not cue until they are well into a move. The choreography is not basic, it's all over the place. The workouts would be good if they had an even flow to them. I won't order The Firm again. - posted by Nancy on 8/30/2011 |

    Superb workout |
| I just love this workout. It fits neatly into my lifestyle. The instructors are great and the cuing is good. (I don't expect to get a workout the first time that I do it like other reviewers.) My favorite workout was Emily's Burn and Shape. At first, it was a bit confusing, but I got it after the third try. What I really love about this DVD was that I could move from one workout to the next, no more changing DVDs. I have four great workouts in one. I highly recommend this DVD. Great going Firm. - posted by Michelle on 8/12/2011 |

    Okay but not great |
| I am 38 years old and have been working-out for 19 years. Honestly, I tried The Firm because I got it for free. I found it to be poorly cued AND had complex choreography. However, after doing the video several times it may become easier to follow, just like anything else you try for the first time. There's no doubt it will garner results because of the use of cardio AND weights. The choreography is complex but the moves are not "killer moves" that I hate doing (jumping jacks, running, planks, etc.) Like other reviewers, I too did not find the express workouts on the video...where are they?? All in all, not bad workouts but you feel lost after awhile because you have no time to learn a new move before they add on or change it up. - posted by Natalie on 7/29/2011 [note from Collage] The bonus workouts are not on the compilation. Only the individual programs had the bonus segments. |

    Love It!!! |
| I highly rate this DVD in particular the 'Cardio Overdrive' and 'Pump, Jump n Jab' workouts. I have been alternating between these two work outs 3-4 times a week and feel amazing. I had a baby 12 months ago and haven't been exercising for over 18 months so find these workouts really get my heart rate up without overdoing it. The other two workouts are less focused on cardio but still good if you want a lighter intensity workout. The instructors are good, the choreography is simple and the cues are well timed and clear. The music is very soft (can hardly hear it) but it doesn't bother me because I do it while my baby is sleeping so don't want it too loud. - posted by Susy on 6/2/2011 |
