The Biggest Loser: Cardio Max |
    Challenging and Effective |
| I actually like this video. This is one of three videos of the BL series that I own and I would have to say that I enjoy this one the most. I read someone who said that Bob Harper was mocking the biggest loser participants. I actually didn't see that at all, which is my opinion, but I think rather than mocking them, he is showing that you can have a little fun and workout at the same time. Everyone on the DVD was smiling and laughing so I found this to be pleasant. The thing that I like the most about this was that, after the short 20 minute session, this DVD has me sweating a lot harder than my normal 30 minute run and after only a couple of days, I could see results. - posted by Faith on 4/28/2012 |

    Not for me |
| I've been exercising on and off for the better part of 15 years(currently at a solid intermediate level)and I will be returning this video. Sure I broke a sweat(hence the two stars not one)but I found the video poorly cued and had such a hard time following it that I just shut it off in frustration. Another important point is that I found many of the moves to be dangerous. Rather than feeling a nice "burn", I felt pain in my lower back and I felt as though the workout was dangerous for the knees. Sorry, this is not for me. - posted by Liz on 4/17/2012 |

    A different challenge |
| There are different styles of training for different people. Some exercisers prefer someone perky, sweet like Denise Austin (who, btw, has great workouts), but others like to feel challenged and push to the limit in a more bootcamp style of training... if that is the case, this dvd might be for you.
I don't mind Jillian or Bob telling jokes while doing their segments. It gives a sense of familiarity among the participants, which, after all they all have (since every one of them already workout with these trainers in The Biggest Loser show and lost TONS of weight thanks to the way they push them). I didn't see any of the background exercisers mad or uncomfortable and even one of them wanted to talk all the time about how good he was doing it. They all seemed happy and enthusiastic.
Bob's and Jillian's cardio segment was great, and I'm an intermediate/advanced exerciser. In just 10 minutes you do A LOT, so if you are short on time this one will come in handy.
I'm rating this 4 stars because Kim is not challenging at all and her workout is definitely for beginners.
In conclusion, this is nice addition to your dvd stock if you don't mind being pushed and trained harsh, since some of us need that kind of training. - posted by Sofi on 3/20/2012 |

    Worst DVD I Own |
| I have to agree with the reviewers who said this video is bad. I own many exercise videos and the best ones I've found encourage the participants. I own Gilad, Jari Love, Leslie Sansone, Ilaria, and Gin Miller, and although they run the gamut from being very easy to somewhat challenging, the one thing they all have in common is that they create a positive exercise experience for those doing the workout. This video does NOT do that. I have never seen a video where the person leading the class openly mocks the exercisers, but that's what happens here. Bob Harper is smug and should be selling snake oil at a carnival. He struts around the set and makes comments about the participants, telling one participant, Pam, that she is sweating like a man. How flattering. He also jokingly tells one exerciser, "Repeat to yourself, 'I love Bob, I love Bob." Revolting. Jillian Michaels in her segment actually raises her very arched eyebrow superciliously at one point because someone didn't have good form. Was that necessary? We can't all be as athletically gifted as you, Jillian. These people ARE trying. Doesn't that count? Put it in context. And the last instructor, Kim, actually tells someone, "You don't need water yet." Really? Is she in that person's body and can gauge her thirst? I'm surprised someone didn't fall over and have a heart attack. These leaders lack warmth. They remind me of the mean girls in high school--they look like they are your friends, but they are mocking you, sometimes in front of you. Having said all this, it's impossible to do a satisfying workout because the instructors, especially Bob stop and you are forced to follow the exercisers, most of whom have terrible form and are moving in all different directions at once. Yes, you will sweat lots and burn calories but beware: you are more likely to injure yourself with this video than others because the warmup is not gentle and there is rarely anyone doing the exercise right. I pulled a back muscle during the warmup! And I have been exercising for years. The biggest losers, I think, are all us who bought this DVD. I don't loathe myself that much that I feel I have to buy any more videos from this motley crew. - posted by Susan on 10/7/2011 |

    Pretty good workout |
| I really enjoyed level two on this DVD, but was sad that it is only 10 minutes as is level 3. I thought level 3 was way to easy and repeated the same moves again and again. This is not my favorite DVD since I only like 10 minutes of it. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser and found the segments too easy. - posted by Aimee on 8/5/2011 |

how much have you lost? |
| I just bought this video and started two days ago. I have not worked out in years since I was 15..and I am 4 months postpartum. Gained 30lbs to much during the pregnancy. Well anyway I do enjoy this video, well I guess just Bob's segment as I am WAY out of shape and have chosen to build myself up. A few days on level 1 then try 1 and 2 for a few days, then add all three..goal within 10 days.
And as far as the video be 'sloppy' my opinion is it's not really sloppy. It's real. Real people who are overweight trying to better themselves by becoming healthier and more confident about their self. - posted by beth on 8/4/2011 |

Lots of fat burning here! |
| The Biggest Loser workouts work. This was my first attempt at this specific DVD and I was able to do the entire 50 minutes (I'm very active and have been working up to the full length with other Biggest Loser DVD's). Each segment gets tougher but all are doable and if you make it to the end you'll be really proud of yourself. I love Bob's segment the best. I think he's a really great trainer and you always feel like he's right there in the room with you. The last segment has sections which are tough to do on carpet so you'll need to adjust the moves. - posted by Kiesha on 4/29/2011 |

    Amazing! |
| This DVD is amazing, and I believe that it will get you to burn your fat. All the trainers are very enthusiastic and keep motivating you throughout the workouts. I like the fact that they have real biggest loser contestants doing the workout with you, so you don't feel that you're the only one doing the workouts. The only bad thing is that they aren't in sync with each other. I highly recommend getting this workout tape. It WILL get the job done! - posted by Jasmine on 4/25/2011 |

    Pleasantly Surprised |
| I'm always one to frizzle out or give up when I get bored with things. For once Cardio Max has changed that in me and makes me actually look forward to working out. I love that I can do all 3 levels or that I can create my own workout by picking between the 3 or doubling up on levels before doing cool down. Another thing that I like is the Biggest Loser contestants in the background. It helps me keep going when I see real body weights struggling and sweating just as much as I do. I know a lot of complaints are that Level 3 with Kim isn't as hard but for me I actually enjoy it. I find that Level 3 tends to sum up the pain from Level 1 and 2 and allows for me to finish well. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. - posted by Michelle on 2/25/2011 |

    good dvd |
| this quite a good workout to get going with. you are made to feel like you have a group right in your own home...full of enthusiasm. the workouts are great. just perfect for a beginners/intermediate....not too slow, yet not crazy fast. It's a good dvd all in all. the only problem i'm having is going from one workout to the next without having to get back to the computer manually. maybe i'll still figure it out. - posted by D on 2/18/2011 |
