The Biggest Loser: Boot Camp

Really liked it.
I'm not a fan of Jillian Michaels, so I wasn't sure about Bob Harper, I LOVE this video. I have never sweated so much in my life. Can't wait to get his biggest loser yoga dvd in a few days to go with this! - posted by Lisa on 5/8/2012
NICE CHANGE OF PACE & A GREAT OVER ALL WORKOUT
I'm that person who has 10-15 stubborn lbs left to lose & is struggling with it (after losing 125lbs so far). I thought Bob's Boot camp was going to be a waste of time - boy was I wrong! And that was only the 1st phase. I agree that it seems a little slow paced (from what I'm used to), but by the end of the session (35 min with cool down) - I was sweating (something that I usually do NOT do in a workout), and my muscles are all rubbery. Did not even notice that there was no music, as I was too busy focusing on Bob's instruction, work out & my form, rather than the participants in the video or any music. I can't wait to see what the next few weeks will bring as I ramp up with each of the levels! I love the fact that I can get this work out done in the mornings before I even get my kids out of bed for school! Thanks Bob! - posted by Trudy on 2/22/2012
MY MOST FAVORITE BIGGEST LOSER WORKOUT!!!!
I love this workout so much. I have had it for 2 years and had such great success and results with it. Bob is so fantastic!! He's just my fav BL trainer. He has personality and his instructions are right on cue. This DVD makes my whole body dripping with sweat!! By the end of the workout and totally soaked with sweat!!! I highly recommend this workout. I say if you want results fast as in weight loss. Then I recommend this because if you work hard and feel that this is a last chance workout then you are going to get these results fast!!!! LOVE THIS DVD!!!! - posted by Megan on 11/12/2011
Really Great Workout
I have really enjoyed this workout. It's nice to be able to pick and choose between the three different levels. I have gradually worked myself up to Level 3 and I am getting a good, sweaty workout. Great for beginners, or for intermediate levels. Bob leads all the workouts, which I enjoy. That is not always the case with the Biggest Loser workouts. BL Bootcamp will definitely stay in my workout rotation of videos. I have been doing this workout at least two times a week and rotate other Biggest Loser workouts on the other days. Nice to workout with people who look like me and are in the process of losing tons of weight. It's incredibly motivating! - posted by Lisa on 6/17/2011
love it
Its hard but it works and you see results in the first week...lost 16 lbs last summer in 3 weeks....i love that it combines weights and cardio... - posted by jordan on 5/26/2011
Biggest loser is the bomb!
I have almost every biggest loser video and I love them. Their workouts are challenging and fun. Bob is an excellent motivator. I see amazing results and never want to go back. - posted by melissa on 4/23/2011
Terribe!
What a boring and DARK set...You feel like you're in a dark garage..Did not like it, no music or barely, the people in the workout look bored and unmovitated. What happened Bob? - posted by Nancy on 12/17/2010
Excellent and tough!
This workout is beyond intermediate to me, I'd rate it Int/Advanced. And its impressive that all those who need to lose weight are able to do it and work so hard. Its a tough workout! I usually work out to Cathe, Amy, Jillian, and Jari Love, and I thought this was plenty challenging! I was really inspired to work hard with the class, if they can do it, then I should be able to do it when I don't have near as much weight to lose! I love the class and I have gotten used to Bob not doing the workout (boy he sure gets off easy!) - posted by Cheryl on 10/6/2010
Great workout!
I am loving this workout. I have been alternating this with Weight Loss Yoga and am seeing and feeling results. I am on week 3 and have already lost 8 lbs. I have over 230 workouts on DVD and this program does not bore me like the others. Bob is really motivating. And not hard to look at! I am starting to look forward to working out again. I had a 10 lb baby last December and have not been really motivated to get back at it. This is just what my body and mind needed. Thank you Bob! - posted by Susan on 9/2/2010
Great total overall workout - you sweat
This has become one of my favorite workouts. I do this and his yoga. I also do the biggest loser cardio max and last chance workout. These four have been my go to workouts for a couple of months and my arms have never been this ripped. The body strength moves are a bonus to the weights. I would have never expected to love biggest loser workouts. I have done many advanced workouts Cathe, Jari , Jillian and also The Firm but none have chiseled my arms like these and made me sweat. Its the moves and intensity that work because they use every muscle in the body. - posted by Teresa on 7/13/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Music only option
X
This feature allows you to play only the music, without any cuing (after you’ve learned the movements and you just want to do the workout without listening to the instruction).
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
