Certified instructor description: A comprehensive program that incorporates the three basic fitness elements: cardio, balance and toning. The workout is both varied and energizing; this seniors class is truly having fun. You'll start with fat-burning, heart-strengthening aerobics (from simple dance steps to boxer-style jabs and punches). That's followed by rotations and stretches in the balance and flexibility segment. The program ends with classic muscle toning moves like leg lifts and bicep curls (both standing and seated in a chair). Has modifications for seniors-specific conditions (e.g. "if you've had hip surgery..."). Includes a 15-minute pre-workout tutorial. 2 to 5 lb. ankle weights are suggested. ©2010. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Wide screen.

Super Seniors Box, Balance & Lift

Super Seniors
I like the video especially the weight and boxing portions. Since I am not a Super Senior I find the pace slow but it is a very good workout. - posted by Joan on 5/8/2012
Fun Plus
I found this workout to be a good one for me...since I have a few physical limitations it is hard to find good workout videos. I enjoy this and it gives me a good workout. I have a lot of dvd's from your company and they are what I expect after reading your descriptions. Thank you! - posted by Shirl on 4/19/2012
Great Workout for a Senior
I am 72 and found this exercise DVD to be just the right balance for me. It gave me a good workout without feeling exhausted. It was actually fun! - posted by Bobby on 4/13/2012
Slow as you go
Enjoyed it. I use it after I have walked. Good instruction and shows different levels. It was fun.. - posted by Kathy on 4/12/2012
I can do this at home with friends
I live in a residence and can not always get to the fitness class because of other appointments. This workout is fun and I do it with my neighbor. We love the boxing, and the weights are making me stronger every day. - posted by Dolly on 2/26/2012
This was fun and I felt good doing it
I loved this workout. Especially the boxing part which made me feel strong. I have to get used to putting on the ankle weights. They give you time but I had some trouble putting them on. I enjoyed the weight work and the instructor explains everything carefully and clearly. - posted by Lynne on 2/6/2012
I LOVE this workout!
I'm not actually a Senior, but I have a ton of fun doing this workout with my grandmother in the mornings at her house. I feel better than ever, and I notice a difference in my grandmas energy level as well. We love it!! - posted by Bryn on 1/26/2012
What a Great Buy!
I bought Megan McCracken Super Senior's "Box Balance & Lift" as a Christmas present for my grandmother. This is the one workout she can't stop talking about! She loves the instructor and has so much fun exercising to this DVD in the comfort of her own home. Super Seniors has already increased my grandmothers strength and confidence. I am so happy I found this for her and I highly recommend it! - posted by Emily on 1/26/2012
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Wide screen
X
The program fully fills a wide-screen television screen. Note: These videos will display black bars at the top and bottom on a traditional 4 x 3 ratio TV screen.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Specialty: Seniors
X
Workouts especially designed for older exercisers (e.g. featuring seniors participants or older music styles). They may include all three basic exercise types: aerobics, toning and stretch.
