Certified instructor description: A smooth-flowing workout that mixes traditional moves with newer balance and compound exercises. It’s a motivating, time-efficient blend that challenges your muscles in varied ways. The program is exceptionally fluid — each move just naturally transitions into the next. Many sequences also integrate multiple, complimentary techniques (e.g. a reverse lunge with an overhead press strengthens your upper and lower body while also improving balance). Erin O’Brien’s cuing is both friendly and informative — lots of technique tips and harder/easier options. Requires 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2010. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Strong Body, Fit Body with Erin O'Brien

Awesome work out!!!!
Thanks, Erin, for making this DVD. I have done this twice and have decided to make it part of my weekly routine. It kicks my butt!!! And I love it! There are moves that I just don't get in other work outs. You've got to surprise those muscles. I love the music and the credits at the end are funny! - posted by Toni on 5/12/2012
Good intermediate video for compound double duty exercises!
Enjoyed this video very much. I am an advanced exerciser but enjoyed this video for my off days when I want to incorporate a little of everything! Erin has a great energy that makes you smile! - posted by Terri on 4/8/2012
a kick butt video
I wanted a program that used weights and kept you in shape, found one. This workout was really a good workout, got you sweating in no time and great weight workout. - posted by Becky on 1/19/2012
Great Workout
I had never even heard of Erin and I've been a collage customer since 1996, but I was browsing the strength training section and came across this. So glad I gave it a try. Erin is down to earth and efficient. I liked this workout from the very start. I generally hate strength training, but this really made the time pass by quickly and I could feel it the next day. I'm an intermediate exerciser in my late 40's and am really trying hard to incorporate more strength training into my regimen. This will be a keeper. The only area it lacks in my opinion is there isn't much for the abdominals, but I have many other videos to address that. - posted by Teresa on 12/22/2011
strong body, fit body
Erin does a great job. it was right on as an intermediate level workout. The sections are all effective. The "floor workout" is my favorite. - posted by gary on 11/17/2011
Great total body workout!
I agree with Marla a few reviews down...I'm surprised it's not a staff favorite! This is an effective and well executed workout. The body parts are worked out evenly, the moves aren't too complicated and Erin is a pleasant instructor that explains each move thoroughly. The music, like with many workout dvds, is forgettable, but the workout still goes by quickly. Oh and the credits are funny! - posted by Amanda on 9/4/2011
not a lot of fuss and bother.....
but the workout is comprehensive and interesting.....and offers a pleasant change in routine...and the credits are a hoot! - posted by tess on 6/2/2011
A great total body workout for the older exerciser
I'm a formerly mega fit 50 something who's had a number of health challenges in recent years, including arthritis, autoimmune disorders and a car accident. That said, it's tough for me to manage the Cathe, original Firm workouts and heavy weight gym workouts I was used to. Erin O'Brien's Strong Body, Fit Body fits the bill for me right now. That's not to say that it's easy, and I certainly feel thoroughly worked out when I'm finished. It is, however, a workout you'll be able accomplish and one that will give you a real sense of accomplishment. I like Erin's focus on the core throughout with her compound moves, balance challenges and short segments. I won't break this workout down since it's already been done, but will say that you won't be watching the clock. I bought this one based on the Collage reviews and I'm glad that I did. I'll look for more Erin workouts. My only complaint? I do wish that she used music. - posted by Pamela on 5/12/2011
Solid workout
Like Erin's other video, Strong Body, Ageless Body, this gives you a solid workout that works up a sweat in under an hour. Erin looks and sounds like a "regular" person, so she is not intimidating. Although it's set up to play the whole way through, you can easily do part of it and skip a part if you want to do different muscles on different days or if you are short on time. I highly recommend this video and her other one that I sited above. - posted by Janet on 5/11/2011
Great Time-Efficient Workout
This workout will work your whole body in a relatively short period of time. And the compound moves will help you break a sweat, so you will see a cardio benefit as well. I like Erin; she is down to earth and has moves that real people can do. She also puts a lot of attention on balance moves, works the core a lot in moves for the upper body, and I like the plyometric moves for the fast-twitch muscles. - posted by Liz on 4/28/2011

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
