Certified instructor description: Designed for anyone with Fibromyalgia who prefers working out while sitting down. The entire program is done seated in a chair (although Mary Ann demonstrates some moves standing next to the chair while Lori remains seated). The program is designed to reduce pain, improve posture and increase flexibility. The movements include breath exercises, stretches, self-massages and range-of-motion routines (e.g. circling the arms overhead). A volleyball-type ball is also used for some exercises (e.g. rolling bare feet on it for sensory stimulation or holding it as you move your hands). Mary Ann Wilson, RN and Lori McCormick, PT are experienced seniors’ instructors — always calm and very supportive (never condescending). Also includes a short medical information segment on Fibromyalgia. Requires an 8 to 10-inch ball. ©2006. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Sit and Be Fit: Fibromyalgia Workout

Why should I pay for ads?
The fibromyalgia exercises are okay but there are numerous ads that take up time and space. As this is not a free tape that was sponsored by these companies, they should not be at the beginning. Too much talk and not enough exercise!! - posted by Reva on 9/16/2010
Finally!
Finally a work out that understands fibro bodies. Perfect for those flair days, I used the ball option and it really helped me to not overstretch. It added the support I needed on my arms to relieve shoulder strain. Loved it! I'm ordering it for my friend too! Only complaint...she moved a little fast from one move to the next. But still worth it. - posted by Wendy on 9/10/2008
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
