Certified instructor description: A blend of classic yoga postures and athletic stretches. This program has two distinct movement styles (to address the two different ways that people reduce stress). The first segment is “active” — it’s a fluid, fast-moving series of mostly standing postures. The second segment is “restorative” — it features slower-paced, lying postures that include Pilates-style matwork and meditation. Both sections have an athletic, fitness-style feel (e.g. you’ll recognize the “warrior” pose as just a modified runners’ lunge). A yoga block is optional. Sunny outdoor resort setting. ©2007. Self Magazine: Ultimate De-Stress Yoga

really great
I come back to this one again and again. It has a 20 min yoga "restorative" segment that is terrific- and all on the floor (LOVE THAT SOME DAYS!)- with core work and strength and flexibility- it is unique to have a floor only yoga segment! I always feel great and stress free after it. Try it! The standing segment is great too. Stephanie is really great, and I wish she had other DVD's! - posted by Lynn on 2/2/2012
Perfect-Just what I wanted!
This is exactly what I have been looking for! A nice standing routine with Warrior 2, triangle etc-then into a little vinyasa flow with the poses. The restorative section was great too. I like the 3 ab exercises she di at the begining of it. It never hurts to do some extra ab-work. Then you move into long static stretches and twists. The length of the workout is perfect, I loves the poses ans stretches. Stephanie was a great yoga instructor. She is very calm, mellow and cues well. She give reminders on form, but not too much chatter. The music and scenery was very nice as well. I will use this one often. I wish she would do more workout dvds! - posted by Tracy AZ Gal on 9/25/2011
good work out
Overall this was a good work out. I enjoyed it. - posted by Key on 6/22/2011
very good beginner or relaxing yoga program
I really like this one. It is not too hard and very enjoyable. Great after a hard day of work. It definitely relieves stress and puts one's head in a good place. The combination of strength and flexibility work is very good. - posted by Lynn on 2/22/2011
okay but not great
I am an intermediate exerciser and was looking for something light to do on low impact days. This is good but not great. The strengths are the beautiful outdoor setting and the postures are held long enough to get a good stretch (if a stretch is what you need). Weakness, the moves are not varied a lot so it drags a little, music is new age and although relaxing, not that inspiring. There are better yoga videos out there, like Denise Austin's yoga body burn and Karen Voight's streamline fitness am and pm workouts (the pm workout has a great yoga style athletic stretch). - posted by denise persichino on 5/25/2008
Just what I needed!
I agree with everything the first reviewer (NA/AWA) said. I have many yoga workouts, and the ones I do the most are the 20 minute ones (Yoga Zones). This is new and different - I love the outdoor setting and the music is good too. The instructor does a good job cueing and making you feel calm. I will definitely be using this quite often. I like the fact that you can do 20 minutes, or the entire 40 minutes. I also agree with the last person who said the ab crunches were a bit out of place (not sure why they were included), but it's a quick section and I like doing them, so it's not a big issue for me. Maybe it's kind of like a little warmup into the second section before you start deeper stretches. Overall, this is very very good! - posted by Andelyn on 1/8/2008
Just OK
Maybe I was expecting total stress free nirvana but I think this video is just OK. You get two segments, 20 minutes each--one is faster moving and the other is all seated. It was strange, I did the seated section so relax, and she has you doing situps. Weird! I don't get relaxed doing situps. I think for a stress reliever and do get some nice yoga stretches, try Candlelight Yoga with Sara Ivanhoe. - posted by Cathy on 11/21/2007
GOOD YOGA STRESS RELIEVER WORKOUT
This workout is a great stress reliever for those times we feel anxiety, restlessness and stressed out. The format is yoga stretching style. The first section is done standing and is more active yoga stretching. The second segment is restorative meditative floor stretching. I loved the music and the instructors voice was very calming throughout the workout. The scenery is a very relaxing beautiful outdoor setting. I did the whole workout and felt very relaxed and gently thorougly stretched out at the end. I bought this workout so that I would have two 20 minute yoga stretching workouts to add-on to other high intensity workouts. But I found out that this is a great workout for just before bedtime also. This workout is a keeper with many uses. I would highly recommend this workout to all those that love good music, beautiful outdoor relaxing scenery and an instructor with a soothing voice and demeanor. Worth having in everyones workout collection. - posted by NA/AWA on 10/25/2007
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
