Certified instructor description: Smooth-flowing, almost “rhythmic” movements, calm voice-over cuing and a stunning Hawaiian oceanside setting. Flowing seamlessly from move to move, it’s especially designed to build your stamina, strength and flexibility. Beginners can start with just the first half; it features easier poses like sun salutation and downward dog. More experienced exercisers will continue into more challenging moves like upward bow and standing back bend. It all ends with a soothing stretch and guided relaxation segment (“release any tension…”). Quiet music and superb photography. ©2003.

Rodney Yee's Power Yoga Total Body

Wonderful
I have tried other yoga instructors and for me Rodney is the best. - posted by Julie on 2/2/2012
not challenging
I'm an intermediate yogi and found this video boring. Only the first half hour is standing poses and I never really felt a challenge. The scenery is pretty but I didn't care for the classical music. - posted by Anna on 1/15/2012
Relaxing AND Good Workout
I feel that I get a good one-hour workout, as well as feeling marvelously relaxed and invigorated. I am an advanced exerciser and have practiced yoga for years, using Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste videos, too. There isn't much instruction here, so it is not recommended for those unfamiliar with the poses. The best recommendation I can give is that I look forward to practicing with Rodney and do not get bored with it. - posted by Mo on 10/9/2011
Very disappointed
I have enjoyed yoga for years. I felt this dvd would have been a perfect addition to my workout if I didn't find one thing extremely frustrating and not worth the time, hence the one star because I find it not usable for me. The statement on the dvd stating "This Deluxe dvd Edition includes quick-access chapter menus" was not apparent on the dvd I received. There were no chapter menus to speak of. You cannot tell where one chapter would begin or end. You have to view the entire 60 minute dvd. It not only was very inconvenient to fast forward but it was also extremely difficult to find a specific part because there is no distinction between chapters on the entire dvd disrupting the flow of yoga. This would be a great dvd for those of you that can and want to do 60 minutes worth of yoga at a time from start to finish. If you would prefer to do yoga in segments this is not recommended by me. I returned it. Sad mistake in production and a disservice to Rodney Yee, yet easily fixable I would think. If the issue is addressed and improved to make it more user friendly, I would happily purchase again. - posted by Sandra on 9/15/2011
Surprisingly intense workout
This is my new favorite. I feel so relaxed afterward, but during the workout, I sweat and burn tons of calories. Is it my imagination, or am I losing weight faster now that I started doing this workout? I'm not sure about some yoga proponents' claims about yoga causing weight loss because of increased oxygen to organs, etc., but I know that this is an intense workout that makes me feel great and improves my flexibility and balance. - posted by Lesley on 3/17/2011
Excellent!!!
I love this DVD. I feel great when I'm done with it. Rodney's instructions are easy to follow and the level of difficulty is perfect. I do this workout once a week and can tell my flexibility has improved dramatically. I highly recommend this workout! - posted by Kim on 12/9/2010
Great Workout!
Have been following Rodney Yee for years and enjoy his smooth, calm, minimal directing - it is very soothing, while at the same time, challenging. Poses are held long enough to feel the effort; beautiful transitions. I also love 'Yoga Burn' by Rodney Yee. - posted by Bonnie on 11/29/2010
Poor music choice
The Yoga in this video is solid, as usual, when delivered by Rodney Yee. I am not particularly fond of the sequencing of the poses, however. As well, I was hoping that the pace would be a little slower, holding the poses a little longer. Rodney's cueing is good and his explanations of positioning helpful. The biggest disappointment was the classical music track. This may appeal to some but I found it distracting and not what I wanted to listen to while doing yoga. - posted by marna on 10/29/2010
the best!
This is one of my favorite yoga dvd's! It delivers everything that it claims: stamina, strength and flexibility! Rodney Yee has a soothing voice and does a great job cueing and explaining proper alignment. The scenery is spectacular which makes it even more enjoyable to practice! I highly recommend this dvd. One note - there is a short section of backbends, which is definitely an advanced move, but you can either fast forward or stretch during that brief section. - posted by trish on 10/28/2010
Beautiful setting & challenging poses
Rodney Yee's voice is calm and his direction is clear and easy to follow. He goes through the poses quickly. I think flexibility and strength will improve if you are consistent with this one. - posted by Kimberly on 10/14/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
