Certified instructor description: Richard is back with his legendary enthusiasm, free-form moves, and a new Carnival setting. You’ll be burning fat and singing along to 60s vocal hits, like “Soul Man,” “Hit the Road Jack,” “These Boots are Made for Walking,” “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and “Downtown.” The moves are easy to follow and not too choreographed (e.g. kicks and marches plus simple dance moves). As always, Richard maximizes the interest and intensity with lots of song-related arm motions (from basic claps and waves to “hitch hikes” and “push aways”). Workout ends with weight-loss testimonials from the program’s exercisers. ©2010. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Richard simmons sweatin to the oldies 5
It was as good as he usually has and pretty good tunes. I did miss the live band tho. - posted by Linda on 2/16/2012
Definitely a favorite!
This is my favorite of the Sweatin' to the Oldies 1 through 5. I love the music and Richard is his usual entertaining self! Even on my most unmotivated days, I know I can pop this workout in the dvd player and have a blast(while also getting an excellent workout)! It is just like dancing at a party. I highly recommend it!!! - posted by Joanie on 2/11/2012
Great workout video
Songs were good, routine was fast, just what I needed. I have enjoyed working out to Richard Simmons, just like the video said I have been sweating to the oldies. - posted by Jackie on 10/6/2011
So Much Fun!
I am really enjoying this video. This video makes it fun to workout. The moves are fluid, fun, simple, dancy and I end up getting into the songs and dancing away while I get a great workout. I'm 37 have a lot of weight to lose and am quite out of shape, but you can adjust your effort to this workout. You can put more into the moves to get a good intensity the better shape you are in. I look forward to my workout with this video. - posted by Jenny on 7/21/2011
Richard Simmons' Sweatin' to the Oldies Vol. 5
The workout video is great. I enjoy exercising and love listening to music. So, the biggest plus for me about the video is the great selections of music that Richard Simmons has chosen for the workouts. The choreographed moves are fun and easy to follow. The music makes doing the workouts a lot of fun and an enjoyable way to help me stay fit! - posted by Mary on 7/2/2011
Richard's the best!
Richard makes exercise fun like no one else can. Love the oldies tunes. Sure they're not killer workouts but those aren't for everyone, it's more important to find a workout you enjoy and will stick with. His workouts are for real people, not the size 2, painted on smile faces like in most videos. - posted by Martha on 6/28/2011
sweatin to the oldies 5
I found it to be a lot of fun and I like his steps and moves. The tape was easy to follow. I would recommend this to people who hate to exercise but like to dance because you don't feel like you are exercising. I have of all his VHS tapes and now looking to get his videos. I am 65 and starting to get back in shape and this tape is for me. - posted by wanda on 6/8/2011
Still fun
I always liked the Richard Simmons workouts because I tend to have fun in spite of myself so it doesn't feel like exercise. I pull this one--and his others--out when I just can't drag myself to the gym or do one more kickboxing or step workout. This one is comparable to some of his earliest videos and I like the party atmosphere and the mix of people of all ages and sizes. - posted by Rhonda on 6/2/2011
Great for losing weight and having fun!
Sweatin' to the Oldies #5 was the first Richard Simmons video I've purchased. I love the basic steps and easy to follow program. It's a fun workout for losing weight. I highly recommend this video. - posted by Ellen on 3/25/2011

You just can't beat Richard's videos for a workout that's fun, not a "work out." - posted by Sandy on 3/24/2011

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
