Certified instructor description: Led by a skilled and passionate instructor, it’s a very fluid, precisely sequenced series of 27 classic Pilates routines. Each movement just gracefully flows from one to the next (e.g. a spine stretch glides into a “saw;” that “saw” then progresses into a sitting spine twist, etc.). Rael’s “hands-on” teaching is both motivating and very easy to follow. He walks among the exercisers, showing correct form while offering knowledgeable hints on technique (“be careful not to tighten up here; keep it fluid”). It’s all very similar to the “Rael Pilates 17” DVD, just slightly more intense with ten additional routines that smoothly build on the original 17. ©2004. DVD has: Chapter menus, Region 1.

Rael Pilates System 27

Just okay...
Rael is a obviously a good instructor. The cuing was clear and the modifications for different levels were helpful. However, I was looking for a better, more challenging full body workout. I felt it a little in my abs the next day, but in my opinion this is definitely not an advanced level DVD. - posted by Sar on 5/17/2012
One of the best complete workouts
This workout provides a methodical, complete exercise for the lower body and abs without seeming difficult. He is precise in his teaching method offering a variety of levels dependent on your ability. He thoroughly explains what you are attempting to accomplish. It is fast becoming one of my favorites in my pilates rotation. I have been doing pilates for about 10 years and needed a new advanced work-out to keep me inspired. Feel great afterward. - posted by Bobbi on 3/23/2012
Simple, but effective
Instruction is very fluid. It's not fancy, but it definitely works the core. - posted by Mary on 2/2/2012

Excellent Pilates
I reach for this DVD when I need my pilates fix. The instructor and production values are great. Being a cardio/strength/kettlebell workout fanatic I am often afraid to use my exercise time doing pilates, but I do feel it in my muscles the next day. Highly recommended! - posted by Barb on 8/25/2011

Loved this!
I have done pilates off and on for the past 12 years. I really love this one. I had this DVD about four years ago and gave it to a friend to try. I lost track of her and never got it back so saw it and ordered it and will never give this one away. He is great. I alternate praticing yoga and pilates. This has some hints of yoga in it. Does he have any yoga tapes? I would love to have one by him. He is so graceful. Love it! - posted by RosieG on 1/15/2011
Rael is Perfect!!!
I was looking for and additional Pilates dvd. I stumbled on this one in my search, and thought I would give it a try. This is a must have if you like Pilates. I found Rael's instruction and demonstration of the moves to be so beautiful, calming and motivating. I really enjoyed doing this video. Rael looks amazing and is so graceful. His dancing backround is evident in his movement. I loved everything about this video!!!! - posted by ted on 1/9/2011
Highly Recommend!
Great Pilates workout! This is coming from someone who doesn't like to slow down and take is easy during a workout. I like how well cued and how you continuously change moves through out the dvd at a more smoother pace. - posted by Lesley on 9/23/2010

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
