Certified instructor description: To maximize variety and effectiveness, you get two distinct fat-burning segments: pure cardio and aero/tone intervals. You can do them in sequence for a 50-minute program or just select one section for a 30-minute workout (including a warm-up and cooldown). The all-cardio segment keeps your heart rate elevated with an intense, but easy-to-follow mix of aerobic classics (from fast-paced grapevines and jogs to higher-impact jacks and leaps). The aero/tone segment blends lunges and squats with plyometrics and sports-based moves (e.g. basketball jumps, soccer kicks). Throughout, Chris Freytag’s enthusiasm and energy is contagious. DVD also includes a 12-minute segment on proper exercise technique and nutrition. ©2006. DVD has: Chapter menus, Music only option, Region 1.

Prevention: Drop It in 30!

It's a workout
I'm 50 yrs old and usually select beginner workouts, but can push myself to intermediate, depending on the routines. This is an intermediate DVD that gives you a good workout (if you do both routines) - they work most body parts and leave you winded and sweating, but not overwhelmed. I also like workouts that are not too "dancy" and this works for me. This is the second Chris Freytag DVD I own and both have 2 different segments and then a cool down or stretch section - I love them! - posted by Holly on 11/23/2011
Excellent Workout
This is an excellent workout. The moves are simple and are designed to give you a good workout. I would definitely recommend this workout! - posted by Paulette on 6/16/2011
Growing, Growing, Gone
I absolutely love Chris Freytag and my exercise library consists of mainly her DVD's. I've had this particular workout DVD for several months now and use it about once a week. At first I loved it and looked forward to doing it. I still really enjoy the second workout but, after having done it many times now, the first workout has become boring and I don't look forward to doing it. It's a fun workout but she does the same moves throughout and adds moves as she goes. By the end I'm tired of doing the same moves from the beginning of the workout. I much prefer the circuit approach where each new circuit contains new moves. But that's just me. - posted by Susan on 5/16/2011
Great cardio
As I suspected, Chris did not let me down in this video! After I finish it, I feel so much better about my body. The moves are very basic and easy to follow and Chris is great as a motivator. - posted by Karen on 2/6/2011
My Favorite Travel DVD
For some reason, this is my go to travel workout. I love the 2nd segment, the Metabolism workout. It's high intermediate. It's about 5 circuits. Each one starts with a lower body fast paced strength move such as squats with knee raise, lunges, dips, and then moves to a cardio move and then takes the cardio move up in intensity. Then repeats the sequence. I believe there are 5 of these circuits. No equipment needed. The first segment, Fat Burning, is low intermediate. I modify the fat burning segment so it's tougher. My favorite is the 2nd section. - posted by Mary on 1/10/2011
Easy to learn
There are 2 cardio sections, both with very basic moves. I found them fun, especially the one with "athletic" drills. I'm a beginner/intermediate and this is a good cardio for first thing in the morning when my brain can't do complicated dance moves. The warm-up and cool-down are separate but if you are only doing one cardio section you can't program the warm-up and cool-down with it. I liked Chris Freytag and will look for more of her workouts. - posted by Annette on 7/13/2010
Easy and fun moves
This is a fun workout with simple aerobic moves mixed with a little dance moves. I love the grapevine in this workout. I would say this is at the top-end of the label intermediate. I like Chris and she is cheerful and motivating. - posted by Carolann on 6/27/2010
Alright
Well I thought the first workout -fat-blasting- was a little bland. It didn't have very many moves that kept me interested. But in -metabolism-boosting- I thought that the workout was fun and enticing. I felt like I burned some mega calories and had a lot of fun. I give this five stars because of Chris Freytag. She is the best workout motivator I have ever seen. She is just the best! - posted by Emily on 2/22/2009
Sweat Blaster!
I love the two 20 minute workouts! It's athletic cardio for intermediate exercisers. I usually do both workouts and they do get my heartrate up. It's very easy to make the workouts harder by exaggerating the moves and adding hi-impact to steps. For example, instead of just marching in place as what Chris does in between sets, try jogging in place. If she steps side-to-side, try side-hops. The nice thing about home workout DVDs is that you can always adjust the intensity to suit your needs. I am actually high intermediate/low advanced exerciser and the workouts still make me sweat. Fun workouts! - posted by Caroline on 2/16/2009
For Beginner Only!!!!
This workout is a complete bore and waste of precious exercise time. My heart rate was not elevated at all and I did not sweat. There is too much stopping and marching. The moves were not intense and frankly rather simplistic.. The metabolism workout was better than the fat burning one, but both were rather neither challenging nor fun. None but a very beginner would feel challenged by this workout. - posted by Denise on 1/9/2009

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Music only option
X
This feature allows you to play only the music, without any cuing (after you’ve learned the movements and you just want to do the workout without listening to the instruction).
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
