Certified instructor description: It alternates standing Pilates intervals with fast-paced boxing/dance segments. It’s a motivating, high-energy blend designed to “build a sleek, powerful and sexy body.” The boxing sections are tough; they feature familiar moves like punches, jabs and upper-cuts. The dance segments are a little easier; they include elegant ballet and sensuous Samba combos. In between, you get a variety of quick-tempo, standing Pilates exercises (e.g. a Pilates-style squat with arm circles or a standing version of the “side lying leg” series). Workout ends with classic Pilates matwork. Weighted cardio gloves are optional. ©2009. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Piloxing with Viveca Jensen

It was ok
I've tried the video a couple times. I enjoyed the power segments, but the toning sections got a little boring for me. I would have enjoyed it more if there was the option to do the power and toning sections separately. - posted by Jameika on 2/16/2012
Awesome Workout
I love this video. It was a great workout. The hand weights are a must to get a good workout, but so worth it. I got 2 lbs hand weights instead of 1 lbs and I was sore the next day. The only thing I would change is a little more floor pilates. - posted by Jackie on 11/14/2011
Good
I am an advanced exerciser and would consider this to be a beginner pace workout. I enjoy the upbeat instructor but never get to a point where it works me hard enough or break a sweat. I like the combination of power moves combined with sleek toning moves. Just wish it was a bit more challenging. - posted by Debbie on 11/3/2011

I LOVED this dvd... I have gotten away from working out... too many things going on ... But this dvd is perfect for getting back on track... It's just hard enough to challenge me but not so much that i can't keep up.... Love it... Thank you.... :) - posted by Cristina Arredondo on 10/13/2011
boring
looks to much like ur trying to fight something and not working out - posted by teah on 9/29/2011
Wowza
Seriously, this workout is one of the best I've ever done on a DVD. Most of the time I stare at the clock, but this flew by and I'm already soar. I love this workout... - posted by Soar on 9/25/2011
Fun Routines
I wasn't sure what to expect with this workout, but was pleased with it. The boxing segments get your heartrate up and the toning is very effective. Viveca is very encouraging and has a different but fun style of teaching. My only critique would be that the toning moves are more ballet in nature instead of pilates-based. There are some pilates, but boxing & ballet would be a better description of the workout. Very fun & energizing. Definitely in my regular workout rotations each week! - posted by Jenny on 9/22/2011
Piloxing
I really like this video. It providesa great over all workout. She provides great instruction along with alternative ways to do things, so you can work at your level. I have not made it through the whole video yet. I have probably made it through 80%. I am in my early 50's and work out regularly. This is probably a younger person exercise or an experience person. Again she gives you options on how to get through. I will say I have notice an improvement to my shape in just the 4 weeks. IT IS MY FAVORITE!! TRY IT! - posted by KT on 9/22/2011
Good Different & Fun Workout!
Its a Good Workout!! it definitely changed my routine.. Its very different but fun!! Its challenging, and a bit fast! sometimes, it can be hard to keep up and the workout could seem longer that what it is, But after you get it its good. I just didn't like the counting it was just weird. - posted by Lissette on 8/18/2011
Fun and Unique, But...
The whooping and hollering REALLY grated! To the point where I just wanted to turn the sound off. I couldn't because I needed to hear the instruction. It's too bad, because the workout itself is fun and challenging. I really like the standing Pilates she incorporates into the boxing moves. Very unique. - posted by Alyssa on 8/16/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
