Mayo Clinic: IBS

At last! Relief!
I am a 77 year-old woman in good health, except that I have been plagued with severe IBS symptoms for about three years. Previously, my symptoms had been very mild and infrequent. This Mayo Clinic DVD has provided more relief from my IBS symptoms than have many visits to physicians. After over three years of sleep interrupted by gas pains, I am sleeping through the night. In addition, I am getting relief from discomfort and feelings of urgency throughout the day. It gives specific, easy to follow advice as to how to handle the condition. Although I still have some symptoms and have to be careful of my diet, I am very much improved. I cannot rate this video too highly. - posted by Dorothy on 5/3/2012
Reading a Time Graph

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Stretch type

Athletic: Traditional sports-style, all-physical stretches. It is the least mind-body focused.

Yoga: Carefully designed poses that emphasize breath, concentration and mental awareness. It also includes the more flowing yoga style – Power Yoga.
