Certified instructor description: Super-easy-to-follow, it’s a great introduction to Leslie’s walking-style workouts. You’ll burn fat with just four simple steps: marches, side steps, knee lifts and kicks. Teaching one-on-one, Leslie demonstrates each move and then explains its benefits (e.g. how a side step engages muscles that you won’t use in ordinary outdoor walking). She also varies the pace and shows ways to add optional arm motions to increase the intensity. But, it’s never intimidating — Leslie always comes back to the same basic walking step. As usual, she's a chatty, supportive instructor (“just move, don’t worry about which foot you’re using”). ©2009. DVD has: Chapter menus, Music only option.

Leslie Sansone's Walk this Way

It works
I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't exercised in a long time and is looking for a video that will help them get started again. It's only thirty minutes so you feel like you can always squeeze it into a busy day. Leslie talks all the way through the program so it helps take your mind off the drudgery of exercising and helps the time go by quickly. - posted by Cathy on 3/15/2012
Wonderful easy walk
This dvd is a very nice, easy walk. I have several of Leslie's dvds and I really enjoy this one for an easy walk. - posted by CollageFan on 3/1/2012
Walking Video
This video is easy enough to help me get started on a walking fit program and hopefully I can continue with the Two Mile Walk next...I'm very satisfied and am starting to feel good about it all... - posted by Denise on 12/22/2011
good beginner's workout
For anyone who wants to begin at the basic level with Leslie's walking workouts, this is a good one. Most all of hers are fairly easy to learn; but this one doesn't have the 'boosted' walks (which beginners maybe cannot keep up with), or the pieces of equipment that others of hers have. Any beginner can and should be able to use this one, to get started. - posted by vanessa on 8/18/2011
great way to learn Leslie's routines
This is the one I would recommend to anyone wanting to try Leslie's exercise dvds. The moves are super easy, her motivational talking is good, and the printed words on the screen keep you learning and moving. A nice easy dvd to get started with! - posted by vanessa on 8/5/2011
another great one!
I have tons of Leslie's workouts, even those on tape; that's how long I have been purchasing her workouts. This is another great one. In fact I just did this one the other day. I always do her one mile workouts, since I am now 64 years old and started doing her workouts again, trying to lose weight and get healthy! This one does not use weights but if you want you can use handweights. It is easy to do and you do feel wonderful after you finish. I recently purchased 17 DVDs of Leslie's and will continue to do so as long as she makes them! I like hers the best. - posted by Peg on 2/24/2011
Building stamina
Having had a trying 2009 I could not get back to doing the tapes I should have been doing. So I asked one of Leslie's staff what should I do. She advised me to use Walk This Way in order to build up my stamina. I am still not where I should be but I am gaining strength. Thank you Leslie and Thank you Collage. Wonderful
Just what I was looking for my classroom of first graders! It gets them out of their seats and into movement. I use it for our p.e. time. The 30 minutes is just right. They enjoy it and so do I! - posted by Denise on 7/4/2010
Dependable
Follows her pattern of easy to learn and easy to do. not complicated, but you get a quick workout. I have several of her videos i alternate with other videos for variety. Sometimes I think she "overtalks," but then I get other instructors who don't explain enough! - posted by Lynn on 3/16/2010
Walk This Way
Throughout my life I've walked quite a bit, with occasional attempts to follow an exercise plan. As an older adult I am experiencing weight gain & some body aches. I enjoy reading You Docs health info, & found Leslie's Walk This Way videos.I tried the 1 mile-it wore me out at first, but I thought "I can do this!". After a few days, I added the 2nd mile. I then ordered the Walk This Way 2 mile & the Three Mile Slim & Sleek videos, which I use 5-6 times a wk.(mostly the 3 mi., with the 2 mi. for the 5th & 6th days. Exercise at home is right for me. I really enjoy Leslie's chatting,& the mile markers. After 5 or 6 wks. of vigorous exercise (I don't wimp thru it) Ive only lost 1 lb., but I have noticed that my stomach is quite a bit smaller, My body aches are less, & I sleep better. Thanks Leslie! I love your tapes. - posted by Sylvia on 3/10/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
