Certified instructor description: An easy to follow, but genuinely challenging, walking-style workout that comes with a resistance band. The bright set, high-energy class and recognizable music are sure to keep you motivated. Each 13 to 16-minute "mile" uses a different exercise style. Three sections feature alternating intervals of aerobics and toning. Some of these utilize the band to increase cardio intensity while others use it to tone your upper or lower body. Two of the segments are pure fat-burning aerobics. They feature varied-tempo walking plus a few new moves (e.g. grapevines and "hip rocks"). The dynamic soundtrack includes lots of classic hits like "I Say a Little Prayer," "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" and "Bad Case of Loving You." ©2011. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Leslie ROCKS
You need to be motivated this is the person to do it. She is by far the best out there. I have done them all. You wont be sorry if you use her dvds. - posted by Denise on 5/15/2012
Different
I have several of Leslie Sansone's workouts and I believe this is one of my favorites of hers. She is always consistent in her intent to help the customer and brings that with this workout as well. She changes this one up enough so that it varies from the others even though its basically a walking video. - posted by Patricia Devitt on 5/7/2012
Great workout!
I like this one because it uses some REAL music and not a bunch of electronic sounds with a 32 count. She is easy to follow and easy to ramp it up as needed. Each mile is different and the group she has with her are pleasant and easy to follow. I have another of her DVDs which DOES have a lot of electronic noise AND because she makes jokes with her class, the DVD's annoying over time because of having to hear her jokes and conversation repeatedly. This one is different and fun. I actually get my step out on the slower miles and use the 32 count beat to take it up a notch. I go back and forth since the music speeds up gradually and it's not safe for step. On days I just want to walk, this is a great great workout. - posted by Jessica on 5/4/2012
Challenging but not gimmicky
This is a true workout. Intervals with the band are for both upper (arms, chest, back) and lower (legs, thighs, butt), and make this a true complete session. I adapted the lunges with the band to that which I'm comfortable with, with is the case with all of Leslie Sansone's workouts. You do what you can at your own pace. I like that this can be mixed and matched, or the whole workout can be done at once. I think it's very motivating to complete this workout, or even a few miles of it. For those considering this DVD, you won't be disappointed! - posted by Are on 5/3/2012
Welcome Back Leslie
Good music that is not recycled. Bright set. Perky instructor. Routine brisk. Well done. Recommend it. - posted by luli on 5/2/2012
Motivating and Energizing
This workout was so motivating, and kept me energized the whole day. I looked forward to doing it again the next day; it was like being with my best girlfriends. If you do all five miles, it's a bootcamp, strength-training, interval, jogging, walking, workout all in one stop. Leslie is motivating, like a leader, and yet friendly, like your best girlfriend; it's my new favorite. - posted by Kim on 4/27/2012
good workout
Several of us exercise together at all different fitness levels and about a 20 year age span. It is a nice fit for all. We vary the miles to change up things and get a good workout. I picked it because it was a Collage favorite, thanks for helping us out with the recommendation. - posted by Janis on 4/26/2012
Best one yet

Love the timer!
I love the countdown timer. It does seem to make the time fly by. The room is so much brighter, too. I'm glad I bought this DVD even though I already own many of Leslie's older ones. - posted by Susan on 4/20/2012
liked it
I liked this one better than the 5 mile advanced walk video she did a few years back. There was much more variety in the moves and the music. The variety of moves kept boredom at bay without being too complicated. She is less perky, which is somewhat of a relief for me. Toning is more focused, but basic. There could be more reps. I found it easy enough to pass on the high impact without it getting way too easy and way too boring. And since it's an endurance workout at 75 minutes, moderate intensity is okay. I do like that she was providing options for the more fit, although I wish my arthritic feet could still handle impact. All in all, I found more focused and more effective. - posted by Darle on 4/20/2012

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Wide screen
X
The program fully fills a wide-screen television screen. Note: These videos will display black bars at the top and bottom on a traditional 4 x 3 ratio TV screen.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
