Certified instructor description: Four easy-to-follow workouts plus Leslie's "Stretchy Band." Each program features a distinct exercise technique. The four-workout variety maximizes motivation as it challenges your body in different ways. “Walk & Jog” and “Walk & Kick” are pure fat-burning. The first includes slightly higher-impact cardio intervals; the second has basic kick, punch and jab movements. “Power Mile” and “Walk Strong” are aero/tone workouts. The first integrates upper-body sculpting into the aerobics; the second features alternating intervals of toning and cardio. All four programs have a high-energy class and lots of Leslie-style encouragement. ©2009. Originally released on VHS in 2001. DVD has: Region 1.

Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds Fat Burning Miles

Make it as good as you want!
This is a great workout for fit 50-70 year olds. It is low impact, but using weights makes it feel like a powerful workout. It is such a good overall body workout. I usually do the power mile and one other segment. I hope to see the toning results soon. Leslie provides helpful instruction in a happy manner. - posted by Katy on 5/17/2012
basic walking
This works for me! not too complicated but a variety of exercise. - posted by Angela on 5/10/2012
Disappointed
The workouts are good, but the sound is horrible. I can't hear the music, so it's hard to find the beat. - posted by Sharon on 4/27/2012
Fantastic
I am 72 yrs young and recently quit smoking. I love Leslie's walking dvds. She is so down to earth I just love her. I love the choices on this dvd. - posted by Karen on 4/24/2012
I enjoy doing these walks
I can't work up the speed Leslie can work me up to walking alone outside. I really enjoy the quick pace. I need this exercise as it is bad for me not to do aerobics. Leslie Sansone is my favorite instructor. I have a library of exercise tapes but I like hers best. - posted by Linda on 4/3/2012
One of the Better Leslie Sansone Programs
I really like this workout. I haven't seen such a good work out with light weights from Leslie. I usually do the first mile and follow up with one of the other 30 minute work outs. I like that she has enlarged her repertoire of little changes to her basic four. Kudos to Leslie - posted by MaryLou on 3/3/2012
Versatile, do as many as you want to
I know these are "recycled" workouts. The idea here is to have your choice on 1 DVD. I'm happy to have 4 workouts on 1 DVD. All of these walks are good ones. There have been many times I started with the "Power Mile" thinking I only wanted to do 1 mile, but decided to keep on going. The variety keeps you interested..beats the boredom. Great exercise without beating yourself up, straining your knees and your back. Try it! - posted by Melanie on 3/2/2012
Walking with Leslie
This video has just been so motivating for me. I work out at my company's fitness center nightly for 1.5 hours, then I go home and do a 30 minute walk with Leslie. I am actually getting up every morning now and walking/jogging with her also....this has been a great motivation for me. She is so easy to walk/jog/kick with - she just keeps you positive during all the videos. I recommend anyone that needs motivated to get her 'walk away the pounds' video. - posted by Terri on 3/1/2012
Walking With Leslie
I absolutely love this DVD, I finally found an exercise that I enjoy doing. - posted by Donna on 2/23/2012
Awesome workout!
I have been walking on a treadmill for many years..I kept replacing the band or wore it out and bought another one. I was starting to get bored with just that type of walking and I saw Leslie's dvd's and I'm HOOKED!! I will not just lose weight but tone up the upper body as well. I really love this dvd, it just gets you going! She keeps me going and motivates me! I will get the 5 mile walk next, as I have 3 of her dvd's. I get going right when I get home from work! I can't wait! Simple moves, but they will tone and make you sweat! I love the band as well, it feels great to tone my arms and shoulders. I have had a left shoulder problem and this will strengthen it for sure...get it!! It's really fun!! - posted by Suzanne on 12/29/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Impact

Workout 1: Mixed
Workout 2: Lower
Workout 3: Lower

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
