Certified instructor description: Two easy-to-follow in-home walking workouts plus a solid abdominal/core toning program. They’re all led by a motivating and genuinely caring instructor. The first workout is just basic cardio — simple marches, kicks and side-steps (plus some slightly more intense “power walking” routines). The second program features similar aerobics followed by an aero/tone segment that integrates optional 1 to 3 lb. dumbbells within the aerobics (to boost intensity and strengthen your upper body). Both workouts focus on heart health, balance and coordination. The last program demonstrates a variety of seniors-specific abdominal and core floorwork. ©2005. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Talky
I guess it is a good beginner routine but found it had too much talking. - posted by Diane on 4/12/2012
A Must Have DVD
I first started working out to this video with a church group, under the direction of a Wesley nurse. We were visitors for the winter season. I knew before I went back home, I would have to buy a copy to take with me. Very low impact, easy for anyone to follow. - posted by Dianne on 3/29/2012
Best Tape Ever!
This is a great tape for us seniors. Gives me a good workout and keeps me going. - posted by Joyce on 1/27/2012
Good video
A very easy video to follow. Great for beginners and older adults. I'm 59 and could follow it and keep up easily. - posted by Debbie on 1/26/2012
I LOVE LESLIE'S WALKING VIDEOS!
This is a great activity for the 60+ age group. Not too strenuous, but a good workout. I particularly like the fact that I have a choice of workouts depending on workout time. I am on Weight Watchers and find this video very helpful with my activity points. - posted by Marcia on 1/6/2012
Started Today
After a 4 week illness I was finally able to get started on the new video. It was fun and I am looking forward to trying it again. I made it for the first half mile and had a coughing fit and had to quit. Hope to do the whole thing by tomorrow. I felt really good today knowing that I have started working toward getting stronger and healthier. I think this is just the workout I have been looking for. - posted by Janet B on 12/22/2011
Adult Training Center Utilizes Tapes for Individuals with Disabilities
I have used the tapes, personally, for my own fitness program and decided to boost my staff by bringing them to work. Staff love the workouts and the persons with disabilities were soon joining in with the walks. Other individuals who are unable to exercise in this manner, use the music to walk the halls, stretch, practice range of motion. Leslie is excellent to follow, as she gives clear directives and demonstration, before the movements begin. It is amazing how well some of our individuals are able to follow the walk. We have a great time on a daily basis and staff and individuals are healthier and happier. Thank you, so much. - posted by Phyllis on 12/15/2011
Slower pace but still gets you going
I own all of Leslie's videos. I have tried many other instructors and various programs and always come back to Leslie. The workouts are easy to follow and you can modify them to your particular needs (slower, no arms, etc). This video is a slower pace than most of her other ones but I still manage a sweat. I find this workout to be good when I really do not want to exercise but know I should. - posted by Donnamarie on 12/8/2011
Sorry, hated this one ...
and my husband hated it even more than I did. The instructor had a very irritating voice -- and she giggled. I was willing to use the mute button and follow along, but the disc wouldn't let me select the sections I wanted to work with, and long self promo introductions couldn't be skipped. Perhaps there was a manufacturing glitch, but this DVD wasn't worth a cent to me. It's out in the garage, waiting for recycling. - posted by Judith on 11/17/2011
Have a back problem
It is a very good workout, don't do if you have a back problem as I do. rate it a 4 - posted by Lorraine K on 9/9/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Specialty: Seniors
