Kathy Smith's Tummy Trimmers |
    like the format |
| this is a pretty good workout with great narration/explanation of form and function, to help stay focused. I like the choice of video excerpts as a sort of "table of contents". - posted by patty on 4/12/2012 |

    Love it! |
| This was my first Kathy Smith DVD. What a difference! Kathy is an excellent instructor; she gives clear, concise instruction on all exercises, gives both easier and more advanced options (so just about anyone can do this), and excellent imagery. I haven't done all of the workouts yet, just the ball and pilates sections. But I'm looking forward to doing the rest! Not only will I buy this, but also her Pilates instruction series as well; I really felt it in my abs after doing the Pilates segment on Tummy Trimmers. Highly recommended! - posted by Marcela on 4/10/2012 |

    Great abs |
| Great video. You can really feel the effects while you're doing the video. It's easy to follow and gets right to the point. - posted by Lisa on 4/30/2011 |

    Extremely effective |
| First, I have a confession to make - I have always hated working my abs, even though I know I should. This is one of the reasons I bought this DVD: each of the segments is 10 minutes long, and I told myself that surely I can stick it out for 10 minutes. Well, not only do the 10 minutes go by fast (because I'm working so hard!) but for the first time in my life, I actually have strong ab muscles. The first segment, standing abs, is a terrific warmup (actually more a warm-up than an ab strengthener) then I move on to either one of my favourite, the core workout or the boot camp. By the way, the DVD is listed as 'intermediate' but when I started out, I just modified it to make it easier (for instance, keeping my feet on the floor, knees bent, instead of the table top position) and gradually did the complete moves as I got stronger. - posted by Barbara on 4/27/2010 |

    Good DVD |
| A co-worker bought this to our group DVD collection and have been hooked..I went out and bought my own. This is a good addition to eating healthy (decrease sugar & bad fat, eat more fruit & veggies), strength-training & cardio. All of these combined will give you a less-pudgy waistline and if you want decrease the pooch. The skin left behind is another issue, but in this DVD you doing planks, using the obliques, lower back moves, standing abs gets your heart rate up. Yes, that will assist the strengthening of the core muscles. But again, get decrease sugar/bad fat, which tends to stick around the middle section. - posted by Old_Lady on 11/2/2009 |

    Pretty good |
| I'm giving this 3 stars because I didn't care for the entire DVD. The bootcamp and core sections are good, the stability ball one is better than nothing, but the rest is a waste of time. I really like Kathy Smith, and I applaud her effort to work the abs using a variety of methods. But too much of this video is just ineffective. While I am an advaced exerciser, I will admit to neglecting my abs for far too long. That was the reason I bought this video - my abs needed some serious help. And they got it with the bootcamp and core workouts on this DVD. But there is just too much wasted time here. I felt nothing with all the other segments, even after not working my abs for quite a long time. I'm keeping my video and only using the 2 segments that actually work. - posted by Lisa on 2/21/2009 |

You can feel it working! |
| Any workout that I can do and actually feel each muscle working that I'm trying to work gets 5 stars in my book. Although not every section in this DVD is a winner, the core training and bootcamp were killer. I consider myself inter/advanced when it comes to ab workouts, but the first couple times I did these two sections from this tape, I felt it in my obliques like I never have! Cuing is decent, and I never felt like I was in danger of hurting myself with incorrect form or strange movements. On the contrary, though some movements in these sections are unfamiliar and not on your standard ab tape, perhaps that's why I felt those muscles really working in ways they hadn't before. Innovative. This is a good one. - posted by Brittany on 1/25/2009 |

    ineffective |
| I tried a couple of different sections and did not feel my muscles working at all! All I got from the "standing abs" section was a sore back. - posted by Anne on 1/18/2009 |

    LOVE IT! |
| This is my first kathy dvd. I love it! It's so different from any other video I have. I love the way she gets right to the exercises without wasting anytime. At the same time, she's very informative. These workouts make me feel very energized! Love the 10 minutes segments so you can do as many as you like. Perfect addition to my collection! - posted by Lisa on 11/15/2008 |

Cut tummy... here I come! |
| This workout is intense and as far as I can tell effective. The moves are not hard to do, but at the same time they are challenging. My abs are killing me! I did three of the 5 exercises. My favorite is boot camp abs. I plan on using this DVD 4-5 times a week. I can't wait to see the results! I think that if I incorporate this DVD with cardio and weight watchers, I will finally get the body I've always wanted! - posted by Asia on 10/28/2008 |
