Certified instructor description: As always, Kari’s movements are graceful and her cuing is flawless — it’s only the slower pace and simplified choreography that makes it “for beginners” (but even experienced steppers may enjoy these easy-to-follow combos). It’s not just an endless series of “up, downs.” Instead, you’ll smoothly transition from ultra-basic to more interesting patterns — from a classic “turn step” to an “around the world,” from a simple “knee up” to a “march on the board.” Kari keeps the tempo moderate and always previews the moves (while offering lots of options). For maximum versatility, the program has two sections: an easier first part and a slightly more intense second segment. ©2005. DVD has: Chapter menus.

This video is step aerobics. It's easy to learn and follow, and you get a good sweat. - posted by Ann on 4/27/2012
This is a work-out video that I can enjoy!
This is a work-out video that I can enjoy. It is fun and upbeat. The moves are taught in a way that most anyone could learn them and they are not extremely difficult. The thing that I would change would be the transition from one stage to the next. The stages don't really end, you just go from one to the other; Ex...warm-up to workout 1, workout 1 to workout 2 without a break, then workout 2 to cool-down. I want to do the warm-up, work-out 1, then cool down so I have to figure out when workout 1 ends, stop the video, then go to the cool down. I viewed the video twice and tried some of the moves as it played. Even though I couldn't keep up with the entire video, I could still feel the affects on my legs and arms. I'm an over-fifty, not too tall, very curvy woman. Can you imagine how inspired and motivated I felt when I saw a lady in the video who represented my body-shape category. My lifestyle, for the past 12 years, has been very busy and stressful because of my work, so I haven't been working out at all. I feel like working out again with this video. I think this is a work-out video that I can enjoy. Thanks Collage. - posted by BJ on 4/19/2012
LOVE IT!
I love this video. This is my Monday routine to get me started for the week. I love the fact that it's easy but hard. She goes step by step with showing the routine. I feel wonderful when I finish. - posted by Sylvia on 4/19/2012
Kari Anderson's Go: Step for Beginners
I love this workout. It didn't take long to learn, the music has a great beat, and Kari is a wonderful teacher. She gives you lots of options to match your skill level. - posted by Linda on 4/5/2012
Fantastic for beginners!
I am completely new to the world of fitness. This video taught me so much. I learned the terminology of step and the pace of the video is great. Kari Anderson helps even a clumsy, 42 year old learn to have fun and enjoy a great work-out! - posted by Kristi on 4/5/2012
Good Basic Workout
This is a good basic workout and even though I am an advanced stepper I can get my heart rate up and get the kind of workout I need. The moves and choreography is basic and more for beginners and I got this so that my husband can join in - he can maneuver this one whereas Cathe's classic tapes he cannot. Good for those light days if you are in shape and advanced. - posted by Michelle on 2/11/2012
GREAT WORKOUT, BUT NOT FOR BEGINNERS
This is a great, quick workout, but i wouldn't classify it as a beginner's workout. It was fast paced, the moves are challenging, but do-able with practice. I really like the fact that the participants in the class are not "perfect" in shape or young and it shows that this workout can indeed be done by everyone, all body types and ages. But again, this one needs plenty of practice. - posted by Jenny on 2/2/2012
an easier step
basic step moves, i use this program when i want a lighter workout but still get my calorie burn! - posted by debbie on 2/1/2012
Kari Anderson's GO Step
I enjoy Kari Anderson's Go Step video. It moves a little fast learning the new steps but the beauty of having a video in your own home is that you can always review and no one has to see me stand there lost. I'm almost 55 and on a good day can keep up. It's a great workout and I find myself so busy making sure I'm in the step that I mostly for get I'm working out. I very much like Kari's personality. - posted by Julie on 1/19/2012

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
