Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout |
    Had to replace! |
| I love this work out so much. I've used it for years on a VHS tape (yes you read that right!)that I finally had to replace it with the DVD. If Karen Voight can't get you in shape no one can! - posted by Pam on 1/26/2012 |

    My Favorite Video |
| I've been doing The Great Weighted Workout for 15 years and still love it. Her cuing is excellent. Her style is upbeat. The results are incredible. Some of her exercises are slightly modified from the traditional. I found her exercises more comfortable and effective than the traditional. This work out is super-tough for the intermediate exerciser. Love it! - posted by Katherine on 6/23/2011 |

    Great instructor |
| I wore out my DVD and was pleased to find it was still available on CD. The upper body workout is the best! I am at an advanced level and still find this to be a challenge. - posted by leslie on 3/18/2011 |

    Older than I thought |
| A good workout, but dated. It appears to have been produced a while ago, judging by the attire the men are wearing, which I find odd/distracting. All dvds's should be dated in the description so you will know how old they are. I think it should have been discounted. - posted by Liz on 3/3/2011 |

    Fantastic |
| Having been very busy for the past three years with two babies, I decided it was time to get back into shape. I've had the VHS(?) version of this workout for years...just bought the CD. When I was the leanest I ever was, this is one of the videos I used. I think it works every muscle in the body! It certainly will leave you feeling a bit sore the next day. If you are just starting back to exercise (like I am) be forwarned that this is listed as an advanced tape. Use the lightest of weights and don't try to push yourself too hard, at first. (I didn't and my knees hurt for a few days after having used too-heavy ankle weights. Yes, the "exercise costumes" look a little funny for today's standards...and the production quality is...well, not as good as her newer videos. Still, Karen is a wonderful instructor and this workout promises to get you back into shape! - posted by Julie on 2/25/2011 |

    Love this workout! |
| I used this video when I was 40 and it got me a fit, toned body. I stopped using it, and 12 years later at 52 I decided to start using it again. It's obviously more difficult for me now, but after three weeks of doing the entire workout 4 days/wk I'm starting to see results, especially in my arms. I used the Slim in Six workout for 6 weeks prior to this...it failed me and felt I wasted my money...not to mention I was soooo bored. Karen's workouts are great - she's precise about correct positioning and which muscles should be used ie where you should be feeling the burn. I have her Yoga Scult (and two others) video as well, and love it also. In terms of value, The GWW is the best bang for your buck! - posted by Joanne on 12/9/2010 |

Really good - but only in parts |
| This is essentially a 3 part toning workout - upper body, lower body and abs. It is showing its age in parts (unitards!) but on the whole is a solid, well constructed workout. Karen's form pointers and instruction was excellent throughout.
Lower body segment - I rate this part 5 stars. It is very thorough and works every muscle, including those such as the inner thigh and calves, that are sometimes not targeted.
Abs segment - I only rate this a 3-3.5. It is one of the places where the workout is showing its age. It is all variants on crunches for a full 15 minutes. I prefer more modern ab workouts with a mixture of moves including Pilates-style exercises. Never thought I'd miss doing planks but I was longing for one by the end of this part.
Upper body segment - This I'd only rate 1 star. I really did not find it effective. It was done standing with relatively fast moves with relatively low weights. The usefulness of this part was compromised by the structure. I had to use quite low weights so I could keep good form when doing the shoulder moves, which meant I ended up feeling nothing in my back or chest. - posted by Barbara on 10/15/2010 |

    Great Workout |
| I started out years ago with Jane Fonda. Then Kathy Smith became my favorite. When I discovered The Firm I was really hooked on all their exercise videos (and still am). Just by chance I tried one of Karen Voight's tapes for variety and loved it. I now have six of her tapes and ALWAYS get a good workout. Good cueing, relaxed, competent and friendly. I find that by switching back and forth between all of the instructors I'm able to work all body parts and feel a little sore from each one the next day. - posted by Diane on 9/30/2010 |

    Tough Workout |
| I wish I had discovered this workout years ago. The whole workout is tough; on the upper body section I had to drop down to one pound hand weights, and I still could not complete every rep. I consider myself a high-intermediate, so I did not think the three pound weights she suggested would have been a problem. The floor work just burns and burns. The chapter menus make it easy to break this workout into smaller chunks for those of us who don't have almost 90 minutes to devote to one workout session. - posted by Liz on 7/21/2010 |

Still One of My Favorites |
| I have been using exercise videos since the 1980's. Karen Voight is still one of my favorite instructors. I think Karen's Great Weighted Workout is the best video she has ever made and one of the best videos I have ever done. It doesn't waste a minute of your time. I especially love the floor exercises she does for your quads, hamstrings and butt. I get a burn every time I do it. She also has a very unique upper body routine because it is short but very effective and all you need are a couple of light weights. I have been using this video for over 15 years and still love doing it every time. I am 58 years old and plan on using my favorite exercise videos like this one for many years to come. Thanks, Karen, you've helped keep me in shape for a long time. - posted by Janice on 7/12/2010 |
