Certified instructor description: Traditional power yoga taught “fitness style.” Jeanette emphasizes yoga’s strength and flexibility benefits, not its mental/spiritual elements. But this is true power yoga — the poses, terminology and breath-to-movement connections are totally authentic. Following a sun-salutation warm-up, you come to the heart of the workout — a 45-minute “power flow” series (that you can play as a single “chapter”). It features fast-moving, linked-together exercises taught “add on” style (starting with an easier sequence and then adding on the more challenging poses). The program ends with core-focused floorwork and a relaxing stretch. ©2010. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Jeanette Jenkins' Power Yoga

A yoga video that's actually fun
This is tough, but Jeanette is always encouraging. She makes bicycle crunches (two sets of 50!) feel good. It's longer than most yoga videos, but the time flies. - posted by Sue on 5/3/2012
Wow! Surprised by how much of a workout this is!
The description provided by Collage is spot on. It was nice to have fast, yet smoothly flowing vinyasas. Very effective as a total body workout. I did this on my 'off' day when I felt like I needed a good stretch. In the future I will do this for the workout AND stretch! I was sweating (had to pause the DVD for a water break) and my muscles were shaking after. I must admit I could not hold some of the poses for as long as she does, but hope to build up to it. Excellent workout! Much more of a workout than my typical yoga class. She really doesn't waste a minute of your time. My only mild complaint is that there is no option to play the DVD without the music. Otherwise I am completely satisfied with this DVD and know that it will challenge my body each time I decide to pop it in. I hope to be stronger, leaner and more flexible soon! This is certainly no meditative, zen yoga. Be prepared to sweat! - posted by Lisa on 4/25/2012
Great Workout!
My daughter, husband and I needed a new yoga workout and this one is great! We really feel the difference and since we have been doing yoga for awhile, we were ready for something that moved a bit quicker. It is great for someone who is familiar with yoga poses but a fit beginner could catch on as well. - posted by Donna on 4/19/2012
Perfect yoga workout
I was looking for a Yoga workout to help me burn fat and lean out. This DVD is exactly what I was looking for! Jeanette is an amazing instructor and I love how this workout takes yoga and adds a level of fitness. - posted by BK on 4/11/2012
Power Yoga
I was looking for the non-traditional more fitness oriented yoga and found it with this DVD. Jeanette's style is easy to follow and the moves are intense but with purpose. I felt rejuvenated afterwards and enjoy that aspect. - posted by Andrea on 3/25/2012
Powerful Yoga
This is a great DVD to have on hand when your schedule doesn't allow going to a class. It is challenging and put together very well. I would recommend to any level b/c you will improve quickly in yoga. - posted by Jane on 3/2/2012
Good workout
This was my first exposure to "power" yoga. I have been exposed to many of the yoga poses in this dvd but there were a few new ones for me; the wrap for example - this one is the hardest for me to hold. What I like about this workout is that it still makes me sweat, even though I'm not doing aerobics, and I feel totally loose and limber once I'm done. When it starts, I'm tight and the stretches are difficult, and when I finish, I feel great. I like that the ab section is so simple (100 total bicycle moves) yet I feel the control my abs are exerting. I like to do this workout when I need a good stretch and I keep it in my dvd rotation so I get better at the more difficult moves. - posted by Eileen on 3/1/2012
Great power yoga
J Jenkins is a wonderful instructor. I usually like to do DVDS lead by yoga instructors. Jeanette knows her stuff. this is well done well paced yoga practice. I did not find the transitions to fast. Be aware if you don't like downward dog this is not the workout for you. - posted by Runita on 1/13/2012
True Power Yoga!
I am an advanced exerciser and love yoga. This DVD has everything I have been looking for. I love the fast paced vinyasas and flow of the workout. If the whole DVD is too long, you can always just pick one or two sections at a time. This is a great yoga workout! - posted by Aimee on 12/27/2011
Amazing for the mind and body!
I love this video!! The beginning is wonderful for clearing your mind and getting focused. The poses are challenging but simple enough to go at your own pace. I tend to carry a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, and this video enables me to walk away tension free and energized. - posted by Cherie on 11/25/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
