Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped 1000

Woman-of-a-Certain-Age Gets RIPPED!!
I have every single one of Jari Love's Advanced videos, but this one is the killer; burned 745 calories by completing the entire workout (I'm 5'3", 113lbs). 3 minutes of aerobic intervals, then 1-2 minutes of weights, which are also slightly aerobic. By completing the entire DVD, the abs and cool down come at the end. As another reviewer mentioned, a couple times I have to pause the DVD to get prepared for the next segment. It's a blessing, though, to stop for those few seconds! Have been a Firm girl for a couple of decades, but I have NEVER slimmed down and gotten muscled in all the right places as with Jari's DVDs. Even my husband, who is oblivious most of the time, has not only noticed but actually commented on my "ripped" body. I have a waist again!! Each exercise is the very most effective; no time is wasted. Jari's cuing is great. She doesn't gush, and I don't tire of her encouraging words because they're not cutsie. It is definitely an advanced workout, especially if using the entire video, but there are enough modifications demonstrated that even an intermediate exerciser can stick with it and feel accomplished. - posted by Mo on 5/1/2012
Excellent workout
This video is broken down into 2 workouts. So at the beginning you have a choice of segment 1 or 2, abs, weights. Or the entire workout. So far I can only do segment 1, which with the abs & cool down is 48 minutes, but I still burn over 500 calories. There are a couple of times that when she switches sets, I have to pause it to get my mat or weights etc. because it doesn't give you time. Other than that I really like it. Get ready to transform your body!
I have always been able to maintain my weight through an overall good diet and by working out 6 days a week. However, when I hit my late 30's my metabolism slowed and my middle got thick, I developed love handles, and I went up a size in clothing. I have struggled for the past few years trying to regain my shape but the same old just wasn't cutting it anymore. I bought Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped 1000 for my 42 second birthday and my only regret is I did not buy it sooner! This DVD has helped me to flatten my spare tire, break up with my love handles, and slip into my old size 8 jeans which I have not been able to wear for 4 years now. I feel like the old me again. This was my first Jari Love DVD purchase (won't be my last) and I really liked her as an instructor. She is motivating and has a good rapport with the cast. The workout is tough but doable, and the time flies because there is a lot of variety. Another great Jari workout!!
Omg- I am still shocked at how challenging this workout is! It's do-able for every level, but if you're an advanced exerciser, and you do all the moves the advanced people do in the workout, you're gonna get a lot out of this! Good Workout
I like this workout for the most part but there are a couple of things that drive me crazy. Jari doesn't always alternate lead legs which is strange for someone who's been doing this for 20 years. As the saying goes, "what you do to one side, you have to do to the other." And finally, she doesn't have any rhyme or reason to her reps. She says "only 8 more" yet you do less than 8 or a lot more than eight. It's a little hard to "learn" the workout. I guess I'm use to the perfect cuing on Cathe Friedrich videos. The workout is very basic but I do like that there are two 30 min workouts. That doesn't include the warm up or abs section though so they are really more like 40 min. but still good on a day when you have less time or (like me) slept in a bit longer :) - posted by Eileen on 3/1/2012

Love Jari'
I love all Jari's videos! I feel stronger, because all these videos are tough! As a runner, I needed some weight lifting workouts to compliment my runs. Her workouts always fit the bill. I love this woman!
When I found out that my kids broke my first copy of this disc, I rushed to the website for a new copy. I love the options this disc offers. It really is like having five workouts on one disc. It is challenging but she motivates you to push yourself to get the results you want. This is the BEST video for shedding post-baby weight. I'm smaller now than I was in high school! Reading a Time Graph

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
