Certified instructor description: Nine complete total-body workouts on three DVDs. Now you can work out with Gilad on your schedule, choosing the programs that focus on your daily preference (each workout is a little different — more abwork in one, more lower-body-focused in another). They all feature a non-stop medley of no-nonsense, body-sculpting classics — sometimes isolating individual body areas, sometimes toning multiple muscle groups at once. The routines range from squats and lunges to bicep curls and French presses to ab crunches and planks. The sunny Hawaiian location combined with Gilad’s bootcamp-style cuing is both energizing and motivating. Intermediate level. Requires two sets of dumbbells; a medicine ball is optional. Note: these programs were originally produced for Gilad's TV program. ©2006. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Gilad's Toning TV Series (Total Body Sculpt)

Gilad Total Body Sculpt
Love the variety of work outs. Wish there were alternate advice for beginners. - posted by Patty on 4/19/2012
Great target toning
I've been working out with Gilad for a very long time and these workouts are great. I DO miss the commercials because you can't do all the reps quick enough without them! I always pair it with a cardio workout though. These are only about 20 minutes long. However they are effective and depending on the size weights you use, you WILL feel it. I appreciate his attention to form and instruction. Good, solid target toning! - posted by Margaret on 11/20/2011
GREAT QUICKIE!!
I LOVE GILAD. He is very consistent in his workouts. These are pretty short but if you really pay attention to form you get a good workout. - posted by Margaret on 11/18/2011
Set your own TV schedule
I had been exercising with Total Body Sculpt on Fit-TV. When the broadcast schedule changed, it no longer fit before I have to head out for work. Without commercial breaks, the edits are abrupt, but it is worth it to have these tapes. - posted by Barbara on 3/26/2011
Just like on TV, but somehow I miss the commerical breaks
Total Body Sculpt is one of my favorite fitness TV shows, so I knew what to expect with these workouts - a series of challenging toning moves on pretty much every major muscle group of the body. Gilad is always a great instructor. He explains things well and doesn't move on too quickly... BUT ... There is a major problem with the way these DVDs were put together. The commercial breaks are spliced out so abruptly that it's jarring. One minute you're in the middle of a standing bicep curl. You blink, and then suddenly everybody's on the floor doing crunches. I almost miss the commercials, because the way these DVDs are set up, you don't get to finish the set you were working on before the new segment starts up. - posted by Lynn on 3/12/2011
Gilad Total Body Sculpt
When FitTV changed the lineup after Jan '11 and Gilad was no longer on at the times that worked for me, I decided to buy the DVD's. Now I can work out whenever I want & I don't have to listen to the commercials. Love it! - posted by Karen on 2/17/2011
Total Body Sculpt is Great
Love Gilad. Love his total body sculpt show. Love these tapes. - posted by Maggie on 2/10/2011
Gotta love Gilad
I'm so glad I got this one. I've been doing more strength workouts, and I love the variety. As other reviewers have noted, you need to pause the dvd and keep working during the blackouts (that would have been commercials on the TV show), but that is a minor complaint. This is a time efficient, effective series. And I love the views of Hawaii in the background. - posted by mira on 1/27/2011
Bad Editing
I had been enjoying Total Body Sculpt for the last year and had enjoyed how effective Gilad's program was for me. It's nice to have these videos that I can watch at any time, but the editing is poor. They cut out any mention of going to commercial break and as a result cut out a fairly large portion of the exercises. One minute they'll be half way through one exercise, the next moment, they're half way through another one. It's not something that can't be dealt with, but I think it would be better if it didn't seem like they were trying to hide the fact that these were created for a tv show and didn't chop so much out. - posted by Mary on 1/27/2011
Glad to do any Gilad workout!
Gilad is one of the best instructors. His workouts are direct and to the point. He targets all your trouble spots and his exercises are not complicated. He does many different moves/exercises but doesn't have you doing 100 sets of each one. Never boring-gets to the point, you do your sets and move one. He explains the moves and shows you the proper way to do each exercise. - posted by Lisa on 7/15/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
