Certified instructor description: A “real” aero/tone workout specially created for 8 to 13-year-olds. Gilad keeps the kids energized in a positive, supportive way; he emphasizes the importance of both form and fun. The exercises are “kid friendly” but never “dumbed down.” They range from marches, kicks and jacks to ab crunches, bicep curls and leg lifts. They’re proven classics — moves you might see in a junior high calisthenics class (but the coach is much nicer and the Hawaiian-beach scenery is much more motivating). ©2009.

Gilad's Kids in Motion: Fun in the Sun

Too fast for a beginner
I bought this for my 11 year old son because he didn't want to do a 'dance' workout. He is interested in getting fit, but many videos cater to dancing. He had a really difficult time keeping up with the pace of the movements, not the movements themselves. He has to modify it by doing the movements at his pace. - posted by Melissa on 7/14/2011
Gilad' Kids in Motion: Fun in the Sun
This is a great video for kids and adults as well. Bought for my two kids, one of which is not very active. Definitely made them build up a sweat between the cardio and toning exercises. Well worth the purchase. I also do it as well when I need a quick workout - approximately 30 minutes long and has two different workouts. - posted by Karen on 2/3/2011
Great workout
Great workout of 5-12 year olds. I teach Physical education. Our gym has 90-100+ students every 30 minutes each day. This video was not only a fabulous cardio and toning workout for my students, but was also very easy to follow. It included some healthy information, and every student was busy. - posted by Karen on 11/22/2010

Fantastic workout for kids
I bought this for my kids and they loved it. I try to make my 2 kids do this 3 x a week. At first, they were resisting but now they really enjoy it. Gilad has a way to make exercise fun for kids. Good work! Gilad, I have most of your workouts. I am waiting for you to come out with a new one. Can you do a TOTAL AEROBICS workout. I would love it! TKS - posted by Cheryl on 1/12/2010
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Specialty: Kids
X
Workouts especially designed to get your children moving. They range from true "workouts" to playful games and just-plain-fun activities.
