Certified instructor description: Four compact waist-trimmers. Each one is taught by a different instructor using a different technique. The short workout durations make them easy to schedule; the varied styles make them effective (and motivating). Jeanette Jenkins uses tough, athletic exercises like rotations, planks and boat poses. Tara Stiles emphasizes ab-focused yoga moves like plough, down dog and bridge poses. Karena and Katrina co-teach old-school classics like crunches, reverse curls and bicycles. Kamala Mathis finishes with core-targeted Pilates routines like “the hundred” and “oblique side crunches.” Part of the “Jane Fonda Workout” series. ©2010. DVD has: Wide screen.

Fast Abs Sculpt

Not Worth It
The only one I really liked in this video was Jeanette Jenkins. She got my heart rate up and I really felt like I was doing something. I really wasn't into the other instructors because it didn't seem like they were really into it themselves. I think the rest of the instructors could have pushed harder and it could've been a more challenging workout that engaged all muscle groups, not just the abs. Jeanette Jenkins incorporate alot of cardio into her routine which is what I was looking for. Not worth the $$ and I really wouldn't do the video again and if I did, I would only do the first part with Jeanette. - posted by Lisa on 10/27/2011
Great AB dvd
I was surprised by how effective these exercises are. You really get a good workout and nice variety. - posted by Debra on 6/30/2011
Great workout
Out of all of my ab dvds this is my favorite because I do not have a lot of time being a mom of 3. Each of the instructor(s) provide a different method in toning and targeting the abs for a 10 minute routine(pilates, yoga, athletic styles etc,). Their cues are clear and smooth and they use many different types of ab exercises as opposed to using high repetitions to do the job. Jeanette's routine will actually make you break a sweat because it is a bit intense but fun. I keep it in rotation to help beat boredom. I think it is an excellent buy for the price. - posted by Gilda on 6/12/2011
Great & Good
Overall, I love these ab workouts. They are not all the same as every other ab routine out there, so you are challenged by the addition of new moves. You spend almost no time with standard crunches -- and you will feel your abs from most of the workouts offered. The only one of the four that I felt was a waste of time and money was the last workout (I can't even remember her name); I didn't even bother to finish it. - posted by Elaine on 4/4/2011
Pretty Nice!
First of all, let me give you my stats. I currently work out 5-6 days a week with DVDs, and have been doing so since the summer of 2008. I'm somewhat advanced, although I can't try any of Cathe's workouts because I just don't have the equipment. I found every single one of the ab routines to be tough, and I definitely would not want to do them back-to-back. I like to use the routines as add-ons to workouts that do not have much ab work. Jeanette's routine is super hard, but I feel accomplished after I complete it. Tara's actually requires a lot of arm strength because you hold a down dog position for a while. Karena and Katrina's workout is very basic, and I like it for its simplicity. It didn't seem like it would be hard, but it was still a challenge. I would probably say that it is the least difficult of the four routines, however. Kamala's routine is very challenging, especially because I generally hate pilates. Her routine is more fun than many of the other pilates routines I've tried. I'm not really sure why this workout is rated beginner/intermediate because it is definitely NOT a beginner workout. You need to already have some strength and be familiar with proper form if you want to do the workout correctly and get all the benefits from it. It should, in my opinion, be rated intermediate/advanced. - posted by Dana on 3/10/2011
Excellent!
Great workouts, esp. the one led by Karena and Katrina, and the Pilates routine led by Kamala. I usually don't like Pilates, but this one was actually my favorite. It doesn't seem like Pilates, just a fun core workout. The one led by Jeanette Jenkins was a killer, as was the Yoga abs led by Tara. The yoga abs are fast moving and difficult! I thought I'd like yoga the best but was surprised to find it was my least favorite, which goes to show you it's fun to try new workouts! This DVD should definitely be rated intermediate/advanced, no way is it beginner. I am an advanced exerciser (Cathe, Kelly, Tracie, Jari) and these ab workouts were tough! - posted by Cheryl on 2/24/2011
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
