Certified instructor description: A surprisingly fast-paced fat-burner that integrates belly dance and Bollywood into traditional aerobic favorites. These total-body exercises are sensuous and fun with genuine heart-rate-raising movements (not endless, static hip rolls). The exercises range from classic ponies, grapevines and pivots to sexy “snakes,” “sunbursts” and shimmies. Kili Marti’s easy-to-follow instruction is friendly and straight-forward (e.g. “contract your abs and put some lift into your hips,” “come on, ribcage to hipbone!”). It’s all done to upbeat and motivating Middle Eastern instrumental music. DVD includes a 19-minute tutorial that teaches every move. ©2007. DVD has: Chapter menus, Close captions.

Dance Off the Inches: Fat Burning Belly Dance

Fun and different
This workout is a fusion of bellydance and bollywood with a few traditional floor aerobics moves like grapevine and mambo/pivots thrown in. There are 3 workouts. I liked the first two a lot. I wasn't as keen on the third routine which was a little hard on the knees and required a bit extra workout space. I liked some of the unique ways the moves targeted my muscles-I felt the serpent arms in my shoulders by the end and one shimmying move really worked my abs. I don't understand some of the reviews that say Kili Marti cued badly-I think she cued quite well and gave good form tips. She also is pleasantly low key and for the most part, so are her background exercisers. She introduces lots of unique, fun moves. I'm by no means a graceful dancer but I do lots of dance videos so I skipped the instructional segment (mainly because I don't have the patience to do that and then do the workout) and I still was able to pick up on the choreography for the most part. - posted by Vanessa on 4/21/2012
FUN!
I absolutely love this workout! My whole body is being worked, Legs, arms, belly, everything! I feel exhilarated afterwards, not tired and exhausted. The more I learn the steps the better it gets! - posted by Lisa on 2/29/2012
Belly Dance
Alot of fun. Use the dance guide and learn the movements first before going on to the dance exercise. Have fun. - posted by Judith on 2/23/2012
Not much belly dancing here
This workout is to belly dancing what the polka is to ballroom dance - ok for working up a sweat occasionally but only remotely similar to the real thing. Usually belly dancing leaves all the joints from neck to hips feeling loose, limber, and powerful - better than a trip to the chiropractor. But this workout was, well, just a lot of jumping around spiced up with a touch of Bollywood posturing. What belly dances moves were included were cued poorly. A novice would totally miss the point. - posted by Letty on 2/23/2012
Muscles I did not know I had
I love this video as I now know about muscles I did not know I had. It is a bit fast paced with the tempo and the instructions even with the step guide but hopefully once I do the video a few more times I should be good. The main part of the video is sectioned into three chapters so you can skip sections for a quick workout. Time just flew doing this and could not believe that 45 minutes had gone by. - posted by Katie on 2/19/2012
Love it!
I love this DVD, it is so much fun. It gets your heartrate up and makes you sweat but you have so much fun doing it that time flies by. I love zumba and was trying to find something similar to that and this is pretty close. If you like to dance your way through your workout you should get this DVD. - posted by Melissa on 1/26/2012
Fun & Sexy....
Didn't really have a belly dancing expectation. I saw the sample clip and it looked fun so I ordered it and fun it is. It's a fun and sexy cardiovascular workout. And doesn't hurt the abs at all I might add. I'm into weights, resistance, step, kickboxing physical type stuff. Have been since I was 16 and am now 45. Lately I've been trying to add some fun girly workouts to my regimen and this one fits the bill. Once you get the hang of the routine you can go all out and really have a good time with it. Sometimes I do the warm up and one workout as a warm up prior to my regular workout. The "chapters" option needs to be tweaked a bit but the workouts can be broken up into three 10 minutes workouts if you choose or you can do the entire tape which includes warm up, 3 dance workouts and cool down. Only complaint is the "chapters" option once you choose an option the tape keeps playing rather than stopping after the chosen workout. I'd like to be able to choose for instance *warm up, workout 2 and cool down* then play only those I've chosen but it's not that updated. Otherwise the workouts are a blast!!! - posted by Nicole on 1/17/2012
Not a Belly Dance Class
Keep in mind this is a modernized/aerobic dvd, not a classical belly dance class to teach you the correct moves for performances. Most of the moves are Bollywood and not traditional belly dance moves themselves. Very cute video but the name is misleading. - posted by n/a on 1/4/2012
Modern Cardio Belly Dance
I can't believe that a belly dance can be a fun modern cardio dance workout.. Love it!!! - posted by Ester on 6/9/2011
Fun And Burn Fats
It's my first to do Belly Dance and it is so fun. Kili Marti makes this Belly Dance workout so fun and you will not even feel that you are working out and trying to burn fat and calories, because it's all FUN... Not to mention how it will release your body and mind stress. - posted by Ester on 6/3/2011

Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
