Certified instructor description: A blend of sultry aerobic dance and classic muscle-toning. It’s a sexy, “South Beach”-approach to re-shaping your body (all done to a hot Latin and club-style soundtrack). Each of the three segments targets a specific body part — belly, butt or thighs. Each section has a short warm-up and cooldown plus some traditional muscle toning. But it’s the aerobic elements that make this workout unique. Lena Pereira has smoothly incorporated the toning into her sensuous dance movements (e.g. sassy rib cage rolls to firm your abs, seductive swivel hips to shape your booty). A great way to feel sexy as you shape up. ©2006. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Crunch: Bikini Body

Horrible!!
Don't waste your money or your time on this DVD. I read the reviews, and bought it anyway which was totally my bad! I even watched it briefly before trying, and it didn't seem too bad. However, when I actually tried it it was AWFUL! So confusing, little direction or cuing and just really messy! This workout is a total waste of time. Save your money for something else! If I could give it zero stars I would! - posted by Kiesha on 2/10/2012
Awesome...!
3 10 minute workout.. you really can't go wrong! Each workout is fun and sexy, and tones really well! The price is great too! I really like it! No dread factor what-so-ever. The sassy latina trainer is also a great bonus. She makes it so fun! There's dance and toning in 3 quick workouts. Love it! - posted by Ilona on 12/20/2011
A nice, light-weight beginner's workout!
This is a great DVD full of bouncy, playful and dancy fun! I am an intermediate at-home workout DVD user. I feel this is for beginners. However, on days that I am sore and stiff from weight training, this is an excellent go-between that I find, loosens up my muscles while giving me a mild boost of cardio. Plus, the 10 minute ab workout (the first segment of the video) really does give the abs a run for your money! I am avidly passionate about Pilates...so I know what a good core strengthening workout feels like. Still, if I wait a few weeks to do this ab routine I will be mildly sore again afterward. It is key to surprise your muscles, since they have "memory" and this DVD helps me to achieve that element in addition to loosening up the legs, hips and arms. - posted by Rachael of South Dakota on 3/2/2011
Fun Little Workout
I thought this was a fun workout with an uber sexy (but tasteful) instructor. This is great for days when you don't have much energy but want to do something. I enjoyed myself! - posted by Christy on 2/4/2011
Fun fun fun!
I love this video. I think its a fun workout to do in between weight training days. Its not the toughest workout but I definitely feel it working. :) - posted by Ashley on 10/16/2010
Beginner Level
The key to enjoying many Crunch workouts - and Bikini Body is no exception - is approaching them with a sense of humor and lightness. It's just a fun, relaxed way to get off your feet and move a little. Each section on this dvd follows the same format: about 5 minutes of (mostly) low impact cardio and 5 minutes of toning. My favorite is the THIGHS section because of the standing leg lifts (major burn). The not so good? I think Collage mislabeled the fitness level - should be Beginner, not Intermediate. The instructor's voice is sometimes quite shrill: "March it OUT!" And overall the music and workout is pretty forgettable. - posted by Martha on 9/30/2010
So confused
Horrible - horrible - horrible. It doesn't even deserve 1 star. - posted by Erika on 5/30/2010
better than I expected!
This was a great work out, with me being already moderate on my fitness level. I do all 3 segments in a row for a full 30 minute work out and I feel it! The good thing is just when you are really tiring out, the 10 min segment is over and its on to another muscle group. The dance influence gives it a bit of a sexy feel, so it's really fun too. The down side is it doesnt do much for upper body or arms. - posted by Rhonda on 9/9/2009
Very Good, but if you have carpet beware.
I Loved this workout! It was fun and I loved the instructor. I will say though that it is a little difficult on carpet. Or at least it was for me, I really liked the Thighs and Abs section. Overall I like it, actually got me to break a sweat (and I do high school sports which are pretty intense) I think this was definitely worth buying. :) - posted by Erika on 7/25/2009
A FUN workout!
While the aerobic sections are what I would call easier than intermediate level, the toning is challenging and the instructor is awesome! It's so much fun that I reach for it on days when I don't really want to workout. I know that Lena and group will put me in a good mood. - posted by Glenna on 2/8/2009

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
