Certified instructor description: Expertly led by Patricia Moreno, each move has a subtle intensity and quiet effectiveness. You’ll burn mega-calories as you increase balance, strength and grace. Every motion really does originate from your center (e.g. a punch isn’t just a flailing arm; it’s a core-based movement that’s both powerful and purposeful). The workouts become progressively more challenging. The first one is basic punches; the last one is “choreographed” kickboxing combos (all taught add-on style, so the sequencing is natural and easy to follow). It’s filmed outdoors in the high desert of Arizona. DVD also has a bonus 14-minute toning/stretch workout. ©2007. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Core Cross Train: Kickbox

Great workout
I love this workout! The instruction walks you through the moves and then kicks up the intensity. I always feel this workout the next day. I wear a Body Media monitor and have no trouble getting in the "vigorous" activity level. The setting is beautiful and the music is motivating. - posted by Bev on 4/19/2012
I love it!
This is a really nice workout. The emphasis is different from a lot of the kickboxing workouts I've done, but I felt just really energized afterward. She's got a great attitude, and I liked here encouraging language- though it was a little new agey. Some of the background people were similarly that way- but it is a Gaiam video so to be expected! Patricia was great though- so I just focus on her and enjoy the sweat! - posted by Rebecca on 3/15/2012

Good multipurpose workout
I've really enjoyed doing this workout; Patricia Moreno is really motivating, and she teaches well. The workout makes you sweat without even realizing it, and it's even low-impact. Awesome. - posted by Heather on 2/16/2012
Great scenery, good workout
I enjoyed this video. Pat Moreno is a motivating instructor and I really liked the way she broke down the moves. I wish I'd had this video before I bought other kickboxing videos. The scenery was breathtaking. - posted by Tipi on 1/7/2012
Patricia Moreno's kickboxing workout
I really like this dvd more than I thought I would. Have tried other kickboxing dvds before and this one seems to suit me as a first timer. The moves are fluid, straightforward, and they teach you the basic things you need to know to do kickboxing right. She has perfect form. I would recommend this dvd for any beginner starting to do kickboxing who wants to learn the basic moves. You do sweat too! It is helping me to improve my balance also, which is terrible. I hope others enjoy it as well as myself. - posted by Beverly on 11/2/2011
Amazing workout
I highly recommend Kickbox core cross train by Patricia Moreno. It's one of the best workouts I've see on video. I love the workout you get when you complete the entire program. - posted by susan on 8/18/2011
helpful
Like many gaiam workouts, the warmup is very good for me as I have lots of stiffness in joints and some arthritis. Though the instructor talks more than I like, her comments about connecting the core to the various exercises was very helpful. My form is better when doing other kickboxing routines, like Illaria's Powerstrike. I would consider this a low level intermediate routine, which is very appropriate for me on slower days. I'm in my late fifties, with many years of aerobics and now need low impact cardio. - posted by leslie on 7/29/2011
Don't waste your money
This video is very poorly designed. You can't do the whole routine at once. You play the individual sections. Very disjointed and not a very good routine. The scenery is nice but that's the best I can say for the video. I wouldn't waste your money. - posted by Mary on 7/9/2011
Great Workout!
This is the best kickboxing workout I have ever used! I have really bad knees and I have purchased several kickboxing dvds only to have to stop using them because of the high impact. I love this workout because Patricia Moreno is a wonderful instructor and I can complete this workout without any knee pain. I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her workouts. - posted by Ronda on 6/9/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
