Certified instructor description: These functional strength and balance moves target specific body areas while always keeping your core engaged. It’s a no-nonsense approach that builds power, flexibility and endurance. Tanja Djelevic’s consistent sequencing makes it easy to follow. She begins with basic toning, adds a balance move and finishes with a short strength or stretch element (never rushed, always controlled). The first program is lower-body focused. The second includes both upper and lower-body moves. The third segment works your entire core — abs, back and obliques. It’s superbly filmed outdoors in the Arizona canyonlands. DVD has a bonus 10-minute stretch workout. Requires a stability ball. ©2007.

Core Cross Train: Balance Ball

work out dvd
I love the dvd I ordered, it works great & arrived very quickly! I would definitely order from Collage video again! - posted by Rachel on 5/17/2012
Core balance ball
Definitely harder than my beginner dvd. some moves were almost impossible(ex: holding the balance ball behind my back and raising it and lowering it). My ball is too big to handle that move. - posted by Carol on 3/8/2012
Too hard
Sorry I plan to return this video. I guess I'm too old (72)to do this one. I was in pain for a number of days afterwards. - posted by Glenda on 2/17/2012
Balanceball core cross train DVD
This is the second balance ball DVD I have that is done by Tanya. She does an excellent job. The exercises are unique and challenging. Her technique and voice are very enjoyable and relaxing. - posted by Terrie on 8/3/2011
Core Strengthening on the Ball
Just what I was looking for! A great tool for doing sit ups without being on the ground! I do all 3 workouts, but it is nice they are broken into 3 20 minute routines. A great stretching and strengthening DVD. - posted by Rena on 4/21/2011
A new favorite instructor and a nice challenging workout!
I tried this for the first time, and by the time I did the lower and upper body sections, I'd felt I'd worked my core so much, I'll save the 'abs and back' workout for another time. I was also pretty spent...my hamstrings were shaking like crazy! I really enjoyed this workout. Tanja is a very pleasant instructor who really pushes you at the same time! I love using my balance ball and have done so on many workouts. She is very innovative in her work with the ball and I am sure I'll use this often in my rotation. OH, and I can't forget to mention the absolutely gorgeous scenery. This is one of the most beautiful settings I've seen in my many DVDs. Highly recommended! - posted by Linda on 11/2/2010
Fun and Unique!
Do you ever get tired of doing the same ol' strength training moves? I DO!! I watched the Balance Ball Core Cross Train video clip on Collage video and saw that the moves looked fun and different. Just what I was looking for! Tanja Djelevic is very inspiring and friendly not to mention the breathtaking view of the Snow Canyon in Utah. The moves were very unique, fun and surprisingly challenging! Who would have known you can strength train with a stability ball?! I definitely recommend this workout if you're looking for a different way to train your body. - posted by Elizabeth on 5/20/2010
I'm Thrilled!!!
I'm thrilled with the DVD. I have only been using it for about a month now and have already lost a pants size. I'm new the the exercise ball so this video has been a challenge for me. I don't think I would recommend it for anyone that is not a beginner or is looking for an intense workout. But then the DVD write-up when I purchased it told me that!!! I have no regrets what-so-ever about buying this DVD and will definitely purchase more in the future. Thanks so much for the help with my fitness goals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - posted by Barb on 5/13/2010
Challenging functional fitness and balance moves
I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser (advanced on strength work). I enjoyed the core section of the DVD, but felt it wasn't challenging enough - although you could always increase the challenge by adding a light med ball to the crunches on the balance ball. Then I did the lower body section. It really focused on my weak areas - glutes, hamstrings and abductors. Ow - those body parts are talking to me right now! I think this section would be a good complement to traditional strength work, and it's short enough to use as an add-on. Overall, this is a great DVD. Each section is well-designed, starts with a gentle warm-up and includes a fun balance challenge. Tanja is an encouraging instructor with a nice personality. The only disappointment for me is that the stretch section is yoga-inspired; I was hoping for stretching which incorporated the balance ball. As with the other DVDs in this Gaiam series, the location and music really enhance the workout. - posted by RedPanda on 3/21/2009
Low ceiling alert!
This is a great workout - I really enjoyed it - it is truly an intermediate workout, I was able to do the entire video without serious strain. The moves were interesting and I could feel the muscle contractions better with the added weight and size of the stability ball. Tanja has a great personality and I will look for more videos from her. The only problem I had with this video were the above head movements. I am 5'7" and use a 65 cm stability ball - I made unintentional contact with the ceiling fan several times, and during one move where you are standing with the ball directly overhead, the ball itself hit the ceiling. I live in a small apartment, so this won't be a problem for everyone, just take it into consideration. Modification in how high I raised the ball, or kneeling instead of standing saved the ceiling fan but reduced efficiency of the moves. Overall, I would recommend this to any beginning or intermediate level exerciser as a good total body toner. - posted by Melissa - 30 yrs - Int/Adv Exerciser on 7/6/2008
