Certified instructor description: You get exactly what the cover promises -- "strength training from the comfort of your chair." It's designed to build strong muscles that make everyday activities easier and safer (while also creating a leaner, longer physique). The workout has three sections. You'll begin with lower body exercises -- simple up/down, in/out leg movements. That's followed by upper body routines that include provent classics like "chest presses" and "bend over rows." The program ends with ab-focused exercises like twists, contractions and pelvic tilts. Friendly, easy-to-follow cuing. Requires 1 to 3 lb. dumbbells (water bottles will also work). ©2011. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen, Close captions.

Perfect video for my groups needs. We will be following up with more from this series. - posted by Kathy on 3/22/2012
Good workout
I bought this exercise DVD to use while recovering from foot surgery. I found it to be well-executed, with excellent instruction (loved the pop-ups on how to perform the exercises to get the best results). The instructor, Jodi Stolove, used excellent form and gave useful, informative instruction. There was instruction and demonstration by others in the "class" on how to modify exercises, if necessary. The only thing that bothered me was the slightly Stepford-esque smiles on the "class" members' faces. All in all, a decent workout. - posted by Gina on 3/1/2012
Useful
I can't compare this video with the ones I have liked in the past. At 84, this is a very useful video to get me to "move"! I like the instructor, Jodi and that there are several levels of participants in the group, including men. The idea of "Chair Dancing" is a great one. Appeals to those of us who love to dance. Would prefer some "Big Band" music! - posted by Virginia on 1/26/2012

Awesome and very easy, but effective and fun....Thank You...Sharon....5 stars - posted by Sharon on 12/16/2011
Decent Workout
Having plantar fasciitis has made working out very difficult. Doctor said no more "pounding" of the feet. Well there are not many exercise DVD's available for this type of limitation. While not the rigorous workout I would prefer it fits the doctors orders and allows me to at least keep toned. Highly recommend for any one that suffers from foot issues. - posted by Barb on 8/18/2011
Excellent!
For those that normally have to do the modified versions of exercises shown on exercise videos due to back pain, this workout is excellent! I wish it was longer because it was both enjoyable and challenging. I would love for Jodi to do a 45 minute strength training video with bonus ab work and stretching. This video was close to perfect for me:) - posted by Joelynn on 8/16/2011
Harder than it looks! The abs work is fabulous...
I consider myself an intermediate exerciser and this workout was not easy..I felt my legs, arms and abs working a lot during the workout. I JUST WISH THAT THE AB WORK WAS LONGER...JODI, please make another one just for abs...I cannot stand doing ab work on the floor, my back hurts too much....Gave it 4 stars because I found the workout too short.. - posted by Lola on 8/8/2011
great
I've was very ill last year this is a great way to start getting some muscle tone back. - posted by Amy on 8/4/2011
Moves all muscle groups!
This is really good! Easy to follow, moves every muscle group, just enough intensity. Good beat. Very doable everyday! - posted by Florita on 8/4/2011
Great Way to Get Started
Jodi Stolove's videos are so fantastic for the underfit who want to get started on a new way of life. This video is challenging and fun, not too long. I love Jodi's videos and I am definitely seeing results. - posted by Lisa on 7/21/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
