Chair Dancing: Life's a Celebration

a little less vigorous than her other videos
I own almost every "Chair Dancing" exercise video and have used them repeatedly over the years. Because of a chronic foot/ankle problem I use them on a regular basis when I feel I've already done too much on my feet. Although I still like this video, I feel as though it's not as fast paced or vigorous as her previous aerobic oriented DVDs. The "cast" includes some new faces and some familiar faces to those of us who have used her videos over the years. Overall I would recommend this DVD but if you are looking for her usual "tempo" of exercise as in previous DVD's you will have to put a little more effort into them than she demonstrates. - posted by Sue on 4/27/2012
Chair Dancing: Life's Celebration
Love this video, I take it to work and start the work day off with quick exercise. The only draw back is music should be loader so that I could get into the beat more. - posted by Rose Manuel on 3/22/2012
Life is a celebration with this dvd
I am going to be 60 and am overweight, diabetic and have bad knees great workout to cover all the bases. Do not think because you are sitting that you are not going to work hard, guess again. - posted by Susan on 1/19/2012

Chair dancing after foot surgery
I found this video very helpful after having foot surgery, and would recommend it to anyone who must limit standing. However, the music was rather dated..... - posted by Deana on 8/25/2011
Great workout and fun
I have 4 chair dancing and yoga and love them all. They have good music, a variety of age and sizes of people and they are all fun to do. I think Jodi Stolove is the best instructor around. - posted by sarge on 7/31/2011
Fun and Great for beginners
This seated aerobics video is so great for those of us who are seriously out of shape. It is easy enough to build confidence and you will see results in your strength and endurance. I have been using Jodi Stolove's videos for a long time and I was thrilled to buy her newest. This video is fun to do and not intimidating at all. - posted by Lisa on 7/21/2011
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Wide screen
X
The program fully fills a wide-screen television screen. Note: These videos will display black bars at the top and bottom on a traditional 4 x 3 ratio TV screen.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Specialty: Seated Exercises
X
Workouts especially created for anyone who prefers to work out while seated. They may include all three basic exercise types: aerobics, toning and stretch.
