Bosu: Total Body Blast

A solid workout on the BOSU
This is actually a pretty good overall BOSU workout, hitting all of the major muscle groups and pretty good cardio, too. The exercises are tough enough that the first few times through this video are hard to follow... the instructor doesn't really stop to explain/demonstrate or start with a slow step-by-step pace until you get the rhythm. That can be a little frustrating at the beginning, but to me it makes for a great video since once you get the hang of the sequences the future workouts are good challenges. I will say, I'm not in love with a 100% BOSU ball workout. It's just too wiggly and I spend the whole hour feel uncoordinated and at risk of injury. But it's definitely a challenge, and these are some great moves - I pulled several of my favorites out and often work them into my general gym routines. This is a good video to go back to for an unusual workout or to fine tune some BOSU exercises. For more advanced fitness levels this is a good add to your collection. For beginner fitness levels, I'd recommend something that focuses more on the how-to of any given move. - posted by Deb on 12/22/2011
Sore calves and shins for days
I bought this video because I wanted something different and another use for my Bosu. Well my calves and shins get so sore(btw don't really need to grow stronger shins and calves)that I can't work out comfortably for days. I don't know that I will use this much. If you do want something different and need work on your shins and calves try this. - posted by Jennifer on 2/12/2011
disappointed
I like most of Mindy Mylrea`s workouts previously. This one disappointed me. - posted by Sherry on 12/3/2010
Challenging in a fun way
First off...always love Mindy. She was the motivation for me choosing this video. I like how she gives credit to the instructors that help put the workout together. Great cardio and strength training/balance/core workout. Fun things to try and definitely challenging for balance and increasing range of motion. Always gives options. - posted by Vickie on 11/18/2010
Super sweaty
This is definitely not a beginners workout video. Within 4 weeks of using this video my cardio endurance was in tip top shape. I am an avid bosu user and really enjoyed seeing some new uses for the bosu. This workout is highly legs focused. There are lots of squads and lunges. - posted by Shauna on 10/13/2010
Bosu Total Body Blast!!
What a fantastic workout. As an avid fitness person, this workout is exactly what the title states, a Total Body Blast. You start with a great cardio segment, and finish with a wonderful head to toe toning section (which includes plenty of abs). I have several of Mindy Mylrea's workouts, and this one tops my favorite list for a complete total body, fat burning workout. Thanks Mindy! - posted by Janet on 8/15/2010
Wow!
This is a great workout. Some moves I haven't seen before. Many of which can be used in class/personal training. Mindy demonstrates it all with perfect form. - posted by Rosemary on 7/18/2010
Tough But Doable!
This was my first Mindy video where she was the actual instructor and not one of the other exercisers in the background. I really liked her energy and "no worries" attitude, i.e. if you can't do the move exactly as she does, you just feel encouraged to do your best. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser, so I could keep up (mostly) but I definitely have a few things to work towards in this workout. The moves were tough, but easy to follow and you do get a chance to catch your breath before moving into the next sequence which makes it doable. Overall great workout. Would highly recommend for those that want to add to their limited Bosu workout options. - posted by Suzanne on 6/23/2010
Love it
Great workout video. It's my once a weeker because of length. I would advise easier and shorter videos for the novice bosu user and for the out of shape. It has helped me advance from being fit enough to being buff. I also think Mindy's mania and positive energy are a hoot. I laugh when I'm not gasping for air. Having few dance moves made it easy for me to follow. - posted by Jean on 5/27/2010
Lots of Legwork
This is a great video if you are interested in burning calories. However, the range of activities used during the workout is much smaller than I anticipated. Most of the exercises seem to focus around lunges or squats. Still, it is an intense workout. - posted by Susan on 4/22/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
