Certified instructor description: Tae Bo kickboxing performed in faster/slower, "interval-style" combos. The high-intensity segments maximize results while the easier sections keep you motivated. The program intermixes Tae Bo classics with newer moves like "machine gun kicks" and "speed bag squat thrusts." Billy makes it all easy to follow. He uses consistent, eight-count patterns and introduces the new combinations at a slower pace (often walking among the exercisers, pointing out the correct form). The moves may be familiar, but Billy makes them interesting with creative variations in sequencing, direction and tempo (it's not "mindless" -- you'll need to pay attention). DVD includes a 14-minute tutorial demonstrating the moves. ©2011. DVD has: Wide screen.

Billy's BootCamp S.O.S. Sweat off the Sizes

Billy's Got Your Back
I like Billy. Check that I LOVE Billy! The problem is that his latest workouts have all been very similar or combinations of workouts. For instance this reminded me of a cross between This is Tae Bo and Insane Abs. Not a bad thing if you don't already own both of those DVDs. This workout is truly an intermediate workout because of the breaks and the lack of maintaining a high heart rate but I will caution you that some of the moves that are fast paced or balance challenging may not be feasible for every intermediate exercise to do. You may have to work up to it! I'm glad I did this workout but if Billy doesn't hit me with something new soon that isn't the same old/same old I'm not going to continue with his workouts. I do love Billy though and appreciate his inspiration that he gives at the end of the cool-down. He's a class act! - posted by Missy on 2/25/2012
Enjoying this one
Haven't done Billy's videos since I retired the VCR, so thought I would give this one a try. I'm finding the moves interesting with some variation on his more usual routines, I've always loved his 8 count so I'm glad he's kept that. A couple of the moves are a little too fast paced for me so I've had to adapt them, but the program builds a sweat and time passes quickly. - posted by Bette on 2/11/2012
Great work out!
Billy keeps you moving and motivated. I'm in mediocre shape, but I love work outs that aren't stagnant and just keep moving from one exercise to another. Billy does give you a couple of breaks, but in general the work out goes real fast. So, you're done before you know it. - posted by Rachel on 2/6/2012
Good
I know many say the moves are old, but I actually thought that is was a compilation of ALL moves throughout ALL his videos so it was sort of different. It was fast, intense, and I felt worked out afterwards for once. It's a GREAT workout! - posted by Amanda on 12/30/2011
billy boot camp
i returned this video along with the other billy blanks ordered all his tapes seem the same and there is to much start and stop in this one just as you start getting into it he slows down and goes over the move again. I did not like these 2 tapes all all - posted by debie on 12/22/2011

Billy Delivers Again!
I love Billy Blanks and all his DVD's and this one does not disappoint! Love the constant movement and easy to follow cues! You will definitely be soaked by the end of this one! Highly recommend to all you TAEBO lovers!!! - posted by Christy on 12/4/2011
Billy is who he is....
I am a Tae-Bo fan. But, I am also a workout feign and a collector of various dvds. That being said, this is a solid workout. This workout is not overwhelming and it is not under performing. If you are familiar with Tae-bo then you will see moves that you have seen before. But, there are some new moves and new sequencing with the old moves. I have also not done a workout and not seen the same moves. A burpee is a burpee, a jab is jab, no matter who does it. The moves incorporated in the workout are reminiscent of older Tae-bo videos. For me that is okay, because I am looking for effectiveness and results. Plus it is all about an individual's workout personality or type. This workout is not boring and I did not watch the clock. Stand outs for me in this Video is that Billy does more dynamic/active stretching. But, not to jarring. Instead of long and never-ending stretching(which he has done in the past) when your muscles are cold. Also, he is much better at working both sides of your body evenly. He also throws in more upper cuts in this dvd than he has in past. Which provides variety, fluency to the choreography, and uc's provide good shoulder work. This is a solid work out whether you new to Tae-bo or seasoned. If you are seasoned or an avid workout diva or divo. You can always adjust to your own level of intensity by adding weight gloves or just go harder on the workout than the people in the video (as long as you keep your form). Perceived exertion can be a tricky thing. This dvd is definitely rotation worthy. - posted by Kierstan on 10/12/2011
True Billy style and then some!!
this is a crazy workout! It seems doable and then he kicks it up once again with true Billy style. this one may take a few times to become able to keep pace but still able to get a good workout in even if you can't keep pace your first few times through. - posted by Missy on 10/6/2011
Billy, You Need Some New Moves!
Unless you're a newer exerciser who has never done a Billy Blanks video before, I must insist that the S.O.S. stands for "Same Old Stuff!" I could barely get through the workout because it was SO predictable and boring! Granted, I've done nearly every one of his videos, dating back to the VHS oldies. As a result, I personally would give this DVD zero stars, but gave it the two, because his basic tae bo moves are good. And while I agree that the DVD aspires to being "interval-style", it is WA-A-AY to slow and disjointed to build up a decent heart rate. Even if you haven't done many Billy videos prior to this, buy one of his older ones. This one is a waste of your precious workout time. - posted by Janny on 9/15/2011
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
