Certified instructor description: Eight short segments, each with a different workout style or fitness goal. They all feature Billy's legendary energy, motivation and effectiveness. Each of the four aerobic segments emphasizes a different technique — punches/jabs, fast-footwork, varied kicks or a mix of all three motions. The three aero/tone programs blend targeted toning into classic Tae Bo fat-burning. They include both aero/tone intervals and targeted body-sculpting sequences (e.g. all upper body or all lower body). The all-toning section is primarily abs focused. No equipment needed; Billy uses controlled moves and your own body weight for resistance. ©2012. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Billy Blanks' Tae Bo Express

Great taebo video
This DVD great if your short on time or you want workout longer. What I like about it is the arm and leg segments to work whole body and some cardio in this DVD great for tae bo lovers out there ! - posted by Tania on 4/28/2012
Awesome workout
I am a Billy Blanks fan. I own just about all his videos. I have been using his videos for over five years. This one is a must have. one of his best. this video allows you to coordinate your workout yourself. Since it is broken into several ten mins segments that focus on different body parts, one can choose which segment they want to focus on each time. You can elect to workout for 10, 20, 30, - 60mins. Billy gets straight to the workout- no wasting time. The workouts are quick and easy to follow. Both advance and beginners can truly enjoy this workout. - posted by Ms. J on 4/9/2012
Billy Blanks Tae Bo express
Loved this! You get a nice workout in those ten minutes! It is nice to be able to pick and choose which workouts you want to do on which days, and you can change it up whenever you want. I enjoyed this one very much. - posted by Beverly on 4/5/2012
Tae Bo Express
I am an advanced exerciser and have done Tae Bo in the past. I think this dvd is a great addition, I like to tack on a couple of the sections on my weight lifting days for my burst of cardio. I like the dvd, did not find it fast, I remember the original Tae Bo's being pretty fast. Just have to be careful as with any type of exercise - posted by Roselyn on 3/23/2012
Saddo TaeBo
I was very excited to get this CD. I loved the idea of shorter Tae Bo workouts that could be mixed and matched. Even the routines sounded great--Kick Express, Combo Express, Bootcamp Express, etc. Alas, it's a great concept poorly executed. Like an earlier reviewer said, Billy's fast pace in this DVD (and the last few actually) is too frentic and not safe, and I exercise a lot! I like switching from fast to slow paces and back again, but when did he start thinking crazy fast was great? We can't hold form and we risk injury. Second, this was filmed all in one day. Most of the sessions start with a really sweaty Billy and sweaty students. I love a good sweat, but it's unappealing to see a class start with everyone exhausted and sweaty. Billy and his students should have changed and relaxed a bit before the next routine, to look fresh. Lastly, the moves he selected are disappointing! For instance, Billy has so many great combos in DVDs like Celebrity Tae Bo and Ultimate Tae Bo. But his combos in this Combo Express are super boring and lack creativity. It seems as though Billy was too eager to get this filmed and sold. He should've taken more time to get this right and appealing. It could have been great with the right planning and doing, but it is fair at best, and I'm returning it! - posted by Robin K on 3/21/2012
Disappointed
I've been a Tae Bo afficiando for years (I even appeared in a couple of the live workout videos many years ago), but I will regretfully be returning this DVD. The moves themselves are fun, but the pace of the workouts is so frenetic that it's impossible to keep good form and keep up. I'm an intermediate exerciser and routinely do kickboxing, weights, and Pilates, but I'm not going to take a chance on injuring myself. Note to Billy: Fast doesn't automatically equal effective. - posted by Marsha on 3/21/2012

You can get your sweat on in just 10 minutes with these workouts! This is a great DVD to use when traveling or whenever you are short on time. This is my morning cup of joe! - posted by Pam on 3/6/2012
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.
sample time graph
Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Wide screen
X
The program fully fills a wide-screen television screen. Note: These videos will display black bars at the top and bottom on a traditional 4 x 3 ratio TV screen.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
