Certified instructor description: A well-taught dance workout featuring three dance sections: hip hop, Bollywood and country line dance. Billy Junior is the son of Tae Bo founder, Billy Blanks. But this is nothing like kickboxing. Instead, you get Tae Bo-style energy and motivation in a completely different workout format (this Billy can definitely dance!). You’ll begin each segment by learning the moves at a slower pace. Then it’s “play time” — having fun, burning calories and grooving to the music. Between each segment are two-minute “cardio bursts” — high-impact athletic moves like jumping jacks (the dance sections are nearly all low-impact). ©2010. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Wide screen, Close captions, Region 1.

FUN WORKOUT
First time purchasing Billy Blanks Jr. DVD. Was unsure of what I was going to get. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this workout. Was disappointed that couldn't PLAY ALL sections, but really no big deal. High energy, upbeat, fun workout. I liked the 2 minute cardio blast. Definitely INTERMEDIATE Level. No equipment needed. I did work up a sweat. I would recommend this DVD. DON'T QUIT!!! - posted by Lisa on 4/7/2012
Lots of fun!!
I really enjoy this workout. I particularly appreciate the 2 minute cardioblast bits after each dance segment. It's a bit inconvenient that they did not create a "Play All" to do the entire workout. - posted by Cathy on 3/29/2012
well-rounded dance workout
This tape is divided into 3 segments: Hip Hop, Country and Bollywood. I, personally, don't like the Hip Hop section only because my body doesn't move that way, but it's a very good routine for someone who doesn't have the same issue. I found the other two routines very enjoyable and fun. All three sections provide a great cardio workout. I actually think his wife is pretty hysterical; I enjoy her enthusiasm. - posted by Maerin on 3/11/2012
Fun
This was a fun and good workout! The only thing I didn't like was having to stop and then having to use the remote to go to the next workout. I would prefer if it just had a short pause and then going on to the next workout so you wouldn't have to stop so much. But it was a good workout and fun! - posted by Judy on 7/21/2011
this deserves 10 stars
What a fun work-out! It's not too hard to follow [well-cued]. A solid intermediate rating. Time passed quickly, as the whole thing is well structured and very enjoyable. At first I was mildly annoyed that each section has to be entered as you go along [no 'play all' feature] but by the end I was GLAD to have a water break: I sweat like crazy! There are lower impact modifications given, but I did a lot of the higher impact moves, just because it was so enjoyable. Thank you Collage for bringing this opportunity to DANCE right into my home! - posted by Bertha on 7/14/2011
NOT THRILLED
I ordered this DVD and Leslie Sansone 5 mile walk DVD at the same time....I wasn't too pleased with this one...The Leslie Sansone 5 Mile Walk is far better...The Billy Blanks Jr. had different dance segments that seemed hard to follow (and I used to be a dancer), and they ended quite abruptly....wouldn't recommend this particular DVD by Billy Blanks JR. TOTALLY PLEASED WITH THE Leslie Sansone DVD and Plan on buying all of her DVDS!!!!! - posted by cinzia on 4/30/2011
Funnest Workout DVD I've ever done!
I have been doing aerobics since I was 14 years old (I'm 25 now), and this is by far the most fun I've had doing a workout video! I do not consider myself a dancer by any means, but I can do these routines and I have a blast! Plus, I'm sweating by the end of it. What more could you ask? Fun and sweat! The only critique I have of it is that the Country Dance workout is a little lacking. It's not quite as much fun, and doesn't make you work as hard, but the Hip Hop and Bollywood make up for it. I can't say enough good things about this DVD. I love it! - posted by Courtney on 4/22/2011
Well-made dance workout
If you can only own one Billy Blanks Jr. dance video, I recommend his other offering, Groove and Burn. But I like this one too and they both have the same good points: an extremely charismatic instructor who teaches in an add-on style with just the right level of complexity. The choreography hits the sweet spot where you'll be neither frustrated nor bored. The entire cast looks like they are genuinely having fun too which is inspiring. I liked the toning bursts between segments on Groove and Burn better than the cardio bursts on this DVD. Both of them have the same odd issue with the DVD menu (no Play All option and a few seconds of dead air between segments.) Still, I highly recommend these workouts and I hope Billy comes out with more material. - posted by Vanessa on 4/19/2011
The Time Flew
I really enjoyed this workout. When I'd finished it, I couldn't believe 45 minutes had actually gone by. What a fun way to get fit! This is a non-intimidating workout that is still challenging and encourages you to have fun. I especially like dance videos because they help me concentrate on the steps I'm doing and not on the fact that I'm working out. (Working out is not my favorite thing.) I've been exercising consistently for the past 8 weeks, usually 4+ times a week and I worked up a good sweat to this routine and got my heart rate up. I can't wait to try his other video, too! - posted by Kate on 4/6/2011
Fun Workout
I bought this because it looked like fun, and it is. It is definitely an intermediate level workout but I did sweat more than I did with Petra Kolber's Just Dance workout, mainly because of the two-minute cardio bursts. The reason I returned Petra's video and decided to keep this one is because the steps in this one are so fun to do! - posted by Sonya on 3/31/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
