Certified instructor description: A high-energy fat-burning workout with three dance styles: Disco, African and Latin. Billy Junior, the son of Tae Bo founder Billy Blanks, obviously loves to dance. His playful enthusiasm makes it easy for you to just enjoy the movement and have some fun (“Missed a step? No problem. Just go back to our ‘home base’ move and pick it up again”). The Disco series gets you groovin’ to 70s dance favorites. The African section features a great drumbeat and moves like “African can can” and “safari shuffle.” The Latin section ranges from classic mambos to “Latin lover.” Each segment ends with a short, high-intensity aerobic or toning “burst.” ©2010. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Music only option, Wide screen, Close captions, Region 1.

Billy Blanks Jr.'s Dance with Me: Groove & Burn

Not that Groovin
The work out is OK but there are others out there that are much more fun to work out and dance to. On a positive note, Billy explains the steps in a clear, precise manner. - posted by lyra on 5/17/2012
Groove and Burn needs work
The choreography was not fluid and the music was not the best. I really tried to love this video because Billy is upbeat, but I felt it was disorganized. - posted by Maria on 3/20/2012
FUN WORKOUT
I really enjoyed this workout....I love how it's very organized & east to follow & not to mention fun to do ... a workout I do not dread. - posted by DATNO on 9/1/2011
Great dance workout
Loved it! Not like his daddy at all, he's got the groove! Easy to follow and great dance moves. Loved the energy bursts at the end of each segment. After a while, I use the music only selection and turn it up loud! Highly recommend it for dance lovers. - posted by Carol on 5/1/2011
Good for the husband too!
Haven't had it for long. I am not the best dancer, neither is my husband. But I think we can both enjoy this video. I like how Billy keeps reminding how to breathe and to just keep moving. Especially if you haven't mastered the routine yet. Lots of fun to do. - posted by Chris on 4/21/2011
just ok
Billy Blanks Jr. is good at what he does, but his wife to the right does not add anything good to the DVD, infact, she is down right annoying. Choreography was ok, but wish there had been more in depth cardio. I've been teaching fitness classes for 20 yrs and love new ideas and love to work out in my home as well as teach classes - posted by VicToria on 4/15/2011
Fun!!
This workout is so fun! Even doing it the first time I got a great workout. Billy Blanks Jr. is very upbeat - it takes a bit to get used to, but then you can't help but love him! I begged my fiance to do this workout with me (he hates anything dance) and even he had fun! - posted by Katherine on 3/7/2011
Energetic and Lively
Billy makes it fun to work out. He and the video are energetic and lively. He gets your body moving and your heart pumping. He has an engaging personality and he cues the moves very well. I like how involved the cast is, too. He interacts with them in a relaxed, natural way, and they really get into the workout. That helps to create the fun, upbeat, nonjudgmental tone. (An earlier reviewer said that his wife seemed to be trying to steal the show, but I don't see her that way at all. Billy talks to her and interacts with her, and she responds. But he interacts with the whole cast.) Another thing I like is that the DVD menu divides the workout's sections so that you can customize the workout. Do them in the order you want, or do fewer parts if you're pressed for time. Nice. - posted by Valerie on 3/3/2011
Excellent workout
Funny and very easy way to move! I recommend it!!!! - posted by Almudena on 2/24/2011
Fantastic Video!
I am a 56 year old & have exercised pretty regularly since childhood. However after doing years of weights & high impact my knees, hips & lower back can not take it anymore! So I have been trying to find low impact videos to try out & decided to try the dance videos. I am NOT a dancer by any means so was alittle worried. I ordered several dance videos but this by far is the best to me. I ordered all of his videos & love them all! He is so upbeat, makes the dancing fun & not intimidating at all, easy to follow, the music is great, he cues the steps perfectly-I was actually smiling & thinking if anyone could see me doing this...but it was so much fun. I was so pleasantly surprised! I really hope he keeps coming up with new videos- he and his wife really offer a great way to work out especially for those of us that are looking for alternatives to the exercise routines of our youth. The video also got my heart pumping & I could really feel my abs working hard.(so tired of ab crunches etc..:) I would definitely recommend this video! - posted by Nanette on 2/18/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
