Certified instructor description: Led by Kristin McGee, it’s a great stretch and movement workout for 9 to 12-year-old girls. These are all "real" yoga poses -- easy-to-follow classics like cobra, downward dog, tree, cat curl and warrior. But it’s not "serious" -- Kristin’s attitude is always friendly and playful (e.g. cobra -- "make a snake sound if you want"). She also emphasizes the benefits of yoga and encourages everyone to experience the moves at their own level (e.g. "if this seems too hard, try..."). With its colorful set and supportive instructor, these girls are obviously having fun. DVD also includes a short partner segment ("do these with your friends at a slumber party!"). ©2007.

Kristin McGee's BendiGirl Yoga

Fun but fast
I bought this video for my 9 year old daughter. We've done it together and it is fun. However, having done yoga myself, I find the moves are too fast and worry about injury. - posted by Yoli on 7/22/2011
My daughter likes it
I bought this for my daughter who was 8 at the time (now 9.) She likes it. It isn't like a yoga class it's more like a bunch of kids messing around. Each girl gets to showcase different moves alone. They aren't following the instructor and there is no flow to the workout. We also have Shake, featuring Kari Anderson, which I recommend more highly. Still, my daughter likes it because she always sees me work out and sees my collection and wants to be like me. I don't find the workout itself to be anything special. - posted by Melissa on 4/23/2011
Fun for My Daughter!
BendiGirl Yoga is a nice DVD for my just-turned-14 year old daughter. We practice together in the evenings and it's a great short program. After the main session is a series of partner poses, also great fun! The only drawback is that it's very fast-paced, so we had to pause and/or play some sequences again to follow. The girls all apparently are gymnasts or dancers and are thus very flexible - it would have been a nice touch to include less flexible girls or focus at some point on modifications of the poses. Kristin McGee has great energy, so overall it's a fun DVD for moms and daughters! - posted by Bernadette on 2/17/2011
Absolute FUN!!
I ordered this video for my daughter's 9th birthday Spa/Sleepover party. The girls had a blast! They loved every minute of it! Several even said this was the part of the party they loved the most! The stretching part was a little boring for them because they do the stretches in P.E. at school, but they had fun with everything else! The poses were not too hard. All but one of the girls had some gymnastics experience which may have been helpful. The video moves pretty quickly, but they kept up really well and never felt like they couldn't keep up or do the poses. If they would have spent more time on each pose they would have been bored quick. Lots of fun and my daughter can't wait to do it again! - posted by Michelle on 9/16/2010
Way too Fast!
I was very disappointed with this video. I got it for my daughter, but they fly so quickly through the moves that she can not keep up. I thought it would be more beginner/child oriented. - posted by Donna on 4/22/2010
8 yr old loves it
She's excited to do this video and says she believes it has helped her concentrate better in school! She is looking forward to becoming more flexible; I appreciate the calming effect it has on my daughter. - posted by Marianne on 4/8/2010

I must admit that I bought this DVD for my little sister but I like it more than she does
It is fantastic for beginners and the instructor makes me and my sister feel graceful and athletic. The cuing is great. The video is very age appropriate for the intended audience of 9-13 year old girls. This video speaks directly to that age group. My 12 year old sister does like it very much and she and her friends have used it together. This is a great DVD if you have a young lady in your family in this age group. My sister and I have been having a lot of fun with it together and we even convinced my mom to try it with us. It is so much fun to pop in on a rainy Saturday afternoon. It is rather “cute” for adult women but I would still recommend it to anyone of any age who wants a quick and easy yoga DVD. - posted by Kelly on 10/22/2009
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
