Certified instructor description: A non-stop program that combines elements from ballet, Pilates and yoga. While it's primarily upper-body focused, you also get a variety of total-body and core routines. Many of the moves are true "fusions" — exercises that integrate multiple techniques into a single sequence (e.g. a Pilates plank that flows into a yoga downward dog). The workout begins with muscle-group-specific floorwork — moves like arabesque push-ups and tricep dip circles. It ends with a standing section that uses light dumbbells for more traditional toning and balance exercises. Throughout, Leah includes lots of options and variations. Clear, straight-forward cuing. Requires 1 to 3 lb. dumbbells. ©2011. DVD has: Music only option, Wide screen.

Fantastic!
Loved this! Love all 3 in the series. True muscle toning, shaping workout. I have found that you think about core, length, and tone throughout the day following each early morning workout. Buy the series, you will sooo look forward to working out! - posted by Deb on 5/10/2012
EH!
I feel bad writing this, I so looked forward to doing the workout. OK pet peeve, black pants, black floor, dark shadowy background. The voice over seemed off, the instructor had switched sides already but the voice didn't say to yet. I found some moves awkward and uncomfortable, and my rotator cuff started to hurt. Then the standing part started and I didn't feel like continuing. I might send it back. Sorry! - posted by Denise on 4/28/2012
Don't have to be a dancer
I play tennis and am getting a bit older. This workout for your upper body has improved my tennis game immensely plus I can pick up my grandson now. First part is exercise without the weights and you can really feel your arms work. The exercises with the weights are actually the easier part of the workout. Gives good alternatives if you are beginning or can't keep up with her. Music is not rock or pop. - posted by Christine on 4/19/2012
really fantastic workout
It's so hard, in the best way. You feel like you need this, like you have to have it, like this is what your body has been asking for, and you've just been wasting your time everywhere else. Go Leah. (i've been doing exercise videos daily for 19years, have an extensive library/variety). - posted by co on 4/19/2012
Tough
The floor portion of this dvd is very tough. I was having a difficult time with my wrists hurting, however. She does mention that the w/o will become easier on the wrists once they become stronger. I have osteopenia (low bone density) & hope that if I continue to use this dvd, my wrists will, indeed, become stronger, which will be beneficial to my bone health. What I do love about the w/o is that there is no time wasted. I just did it this morning for the first time. A few times I had to stop the w/o to watch it to see what, exactly, I was supposed to be doing. The upside to that, though, is that once I know the move, I can move along just as quickly as she does. I have a short attention span & get bored easily. The time flew by because there is no time wasted & also because I was working so dang hard!!! - posted by Sandi on 4/16/2012
SO DIFFERENT!
I just received this and haven't had a chance to do the whole workout, but I have previewed it and tried a few of the moves. I can tell you now that this is going to be an awesome workout, different from anything else I do. I love the concept of this DVD. I know I am going to get great results from this workout. It is TOUGH!! - posted by Barbara on 4/5/2012
Tuff upper body workout
This workout does not mess around. It is the best upper body video so far (and I have done a lot!) It also works most of the body at times with plank work and side plank work. You will not be disappointed or bored with this video. Your arms are worked in lots of different angles which keeps it fun and challenging!!! - posted by Robin on 3/15/2012
So Different -- Really Enjoyed This
Just tried this out and I loved it. It's very different from my other upper body workouts, and that's exactly what I was looking for. My arms were fried, and my core was very active, as well. So glad I bought this -- it's great. - posted by Marla on 2/15/2012
Challenges your Upper Body Strength
Leah starts you off by moving you through a challenging series of yoga-inspired matwork including several plank variations that also work the core. In and of itself I found that this can fatigue the upper body, especially if you're doing the advanced variations. This is followed by light weight standing work that is very graceful and fluid while still challenging if you did the matwork prior to it. On the whole it represents some of Leah's best upper body work. - posted by Ella on 2/9/2012
Hello, upper body!
This is the most challenging upper body workout I own. The entire upper body gets a great workout with this one - not only the arms, but the back, lats and abdominal wall. I'm about to complete week 2 of Leah's intermediate rotation for her three DVDs, and I already lost some inches. Best of all, my arms look different: firmer and tighter. - posted by Rebecca on 2/4/2012
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
