Certified instructor description: Four short workouts, each one designed to open, stretch and strengthen a specific body area. The program is led by Rodney Yee, so the form is perfect. But this is not the all-knowing, super-serious “yogi” we’ve seen in previous videos. This Rodney is unpretentious, talkative and playful. The back-and-forth repartee with his workout partner, Mariel Hemingway, seems natural and spontaneous (“hey, Mariel, are you ready for a shot of abs?”). The four workouts are: total body, upper body, lower body and abs. They all feature a fluid mix of classic yoga poses and they all end with a short relaxation segment. Quiet music. Simple, indoor setting. ©2008.

15-Minute Results Yoga with Rodney Yee

Too much banter
Rodney Yee has many focused yoga videos that provide all the benefits of yoga, strength, peacefulness, and flexibility training. Adding a female partner does not make this woman more interested in Yee's work. Their back and forth banter is annoying and gets in the way of the student's focus. - posted by Meredythe on 3/1/2012
Yoga for the Time-stressed
I truly enjoy all four of these 15-minute workouts. I am out of the house working and commuting 12 hours each workday, and then I come home to 2 school age children who need attention, etc. So 15 minutes is often all I can fit in to my day. Rodney Yee and Mariel Hemingway are both very encouraging, and they really stress how even a short work out can be very beneficial. Those words relieve the guilt I feel for not doing a longer workout and set the tone for getting the best workout for my time. I definitely feel more relaxed afterwords. They keep the pace going but it is well-cued and after doing the workouts a couple times I have no problem following along. FYI - The abs workout requires a strap or a belt, and sometimes I forget that. There are always good suggestions by the instructors on how to modify the exercises for your level (with props, changing your position, etc.). I am looking forward to getting back to longer yoga workouts, and will definitely check out more of Rodney Yee, and GAIAM produced dvds. - posted by Susan on 1/23/2012
Wonderful wake me up!
On those days when you don't have much time, these 15 minute energizing yoga sessions are just right! - posted by Cj on 12/30/2011
Not on same level as Power Yoga
I knew it was 15 minute segments but hoped by doing all 4 segments it would be a complete yoga workout. There was too much redundancy between the segments and was not very challenging. I regularly do Rodney's Power Yoga DVD and was looking for something of a similar level. It was okay for beginner stretching but it will not be in my rotation. - posted by Eileen on 12/29/2011
Not that challenging
This video is rated as intermediate, but I found it to be very, very easy. I might use it on light days as an extra workout, but not as a main workout of the day. I love Rodney and totally enjoy his other videos. I've always liked Mariel so it's nice to see her interact with Rodney in this low key video. - posted by Vicky on 12/22/2011
The perfect way to begin or end the day.
I love this dvd for my "rest" days because it's a quick way to both energize me in the morning and relax at the end of the day. Mariel and Rodney's attitude is also relaxed and playful, which is a nice change from all the too-serious and super-focused yoga workouts out there, and it reminds me not to take my workouts so seriously all the time. The exercises are divided by which area of the body you want to focus on, so if it's not one of my "rest" days, I can do the whole dvd for a longer workout. I also like to take this dvd with me on vacation so I can get a quick workout in without taking up my whole morning. Love it. - posted by Tauni on 12/2/2011
Not What I Was Hoping For
Pros: Mariel Hemingway and Rodney Yee look great. Inspiring, even. 15-minute segments are doable, even for a 50-something out of shape beginner like me. Cons: Poor queuing--assumes you know how to do everything well, fast pace through the poses, way too much chatting going on. I would not do this one again. - posted by Beverly on 9/26/2011
Good quickie yoga workout
I love Mariel Hemingway, she is so classy and looks as good today as she did 20 years ago! I'm trying to get more yoga into my life but have limited time to workout. Usually I try to get more "bang for my buck" and do intense workouts in the time I have. But I can fit this little gem in easily and feel like I'm getting some of the benefits of yoga. - posted by Kathleen on 7/25/2011
Difficult
I tried this and it was difficult for me. I am trying to get back in shape but need to take this slow as I can only do a few if any. This is not for a beginner. - posted by Cynthia on 7/21/2011
Not Bad, but Not a Fave
I have many of Rodney Yee's workouts and this is my least favorite. There is nothing terribly wrong with it as far as flow or technique, it is just sort of dull and poky, and the chatting back and forth annoys me as well--wouldn't have guessed it but I don't care to have instruction from Mariel. I do like the short 15 minute format which provides a lot of flexibility (no pun intended) but much prefer AM Yoga for Your Week or Ultimate Power Yoga which have the same sort of structure but are a lot more interesting, in my opinion. Also think this workout leans towards Beginner/Intermediate. - posted by Nance on 6/22/2011

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
