Great, Fun Workout!
I really enjoy this video with a few caveats. First, the Latin workout was too hard and frustrating for me to do, because she is wearing black pants and it is hard to see what she is doing and she moves too fast. I always start on the second workout and enjoy all of the other ones. Also there is no warm up in this video, so I have found doing one of Cathe’s Core Max workouts just prior is a great warm up and really turns on your abs to focus on Petra’s dance moves that emphasize Ab control. This work out is not an intense cardio challenge, but I am sure it is a good fat burning workout. It is a lot of fun and great for Mondays or days you are trying to kick start your week. Dance skills handy
I have several dvds from Petra Kolber and I like them all. This one the steps are fun and low impact but her teaching of the steps are confusing and fast paced. Sometimes it's hard to understand what she is saying because she is doing the steps as she speaks. You do eventually catch on but it can be frustrating. If you use this dvd everyday for a week or two, you might find it gets easier. Saying "moderate" for the choreography is accurate. I would suggest you sit and watch the dvd first and then try it. Another good one from Petra
I like her videos a lot, but some are pretty long. I'm glad this is available, since it's so easy to work out for 20 or 30 or 40 minutes without playing around with the fast forward. It seems pretty low-key, but you do get some workout without feeling out of breath. - posted by Mary on 1/27/2011
Time Flies With Fun
I have been dancing with Petra for 3 days now with 3 out of the 5 of 10 minutes solotion to start with, and I am having so much fun. Time flies so fast having fun while exercising my abs. Not for me
From the video clip I thought this workout would be good for me. But alas, not so.Petra is upbeat and fast but there is absolutely no breakdown or instructions on the dance moves. I found it frustrating and returned it. - posted by Cara on 9/24/2010
Very Pleased !!!
I’ve had this exercise program for quite a while. I finally got around to actually doing it, and I love it. First of all the presentation and the setting is just great. I am a Petra Kolber fan. I just love her accent, and she wears some really neat outfits through out the program. Those things are important to me because it puts me in the mood to really have fun while exercising. Initially, I had a little trouble with a few of the moves, but, Petra is very convincing, especially when she mentions the moves will trim your waist and make you thinner and taller. So, I gave myself a little pep talk and said, there are no options. I am going to learn these moves or else. I love the 10 minute programs/chapters that are so prevalent in exercise videos today. These short programs have always worked for me as opposed to 30-40 minutes at one time. I've found I get much better results. Great workout. - posted by Nancy on 7/8/2010
Pretty good

Great!
I love this video. It's fast, interesting and quite a workout. You can change the order and the amount of time you work out. I find the variety and the difficulty level both challenging and rewarding. It's limited on warm-ups and cool-downs but it's as much fun as her other dance videos. - posted by Michele on 6/17/2010

Very fun, lots of variety
I've liked Petra since her Reebok toning video in the early 1990s. This workout is a lot of fun. It has lots of variety in its choreography and music, and she packs a lot of moves into each 10minute segment. These aren't intense sequences, but they are fun, with lots of energy. They work great as add ons to get a bit more cardio or as warm ups before weight training. Or if I'm really pinched for time- I CAN get 10 minutes of fun, dancey cardio! These are also lots of fun and mood lifters after a tough day! Petra's cueing is very good, the music is good, and the steps are so much fun- one of my favorites in the 10 minute series! - posted by Linda on 8/2/2009

Reading a Time Graph

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Level

Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact

Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography

Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Floor aerobics

Definition: Fast-paced standing movements like marching, walking, dancing and jumping. Requires no equipment.

Benefits: Burns calories. Strengthens your heart. Increases stamina.
