Certified instructor description: A five-part aero/tone program that comes with a loop-style resistance band. The band is exceptionally easy to use and lots of fun. It boosts the intensity of the body-sculpting routines while adding a toning element to the cardio moves (e.g. side-to-side stepping with the loop around your ankles really works your inner thighs). You get a huge range of exercises — from squats to crunches to Pilates, from marches to jumping jacks to cross-country skiing. Each of the five 10-minute segments targets a different muscle group with different movements (you can program the DVD to play any segment in any order). One-on-one cuing by Jessica Smith. ©2009. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Region 1.

10 Minute Solution: Belly, Butt & Thigh Blasters

Feel The Burn
The band has a bit of a learning curve to using it. Once you figure it out, it's very effective and I can really feel the burn in my glutes and thighs. The cardio ab work gives me light soreness the next day and the cardio for the lower body hits things as well. I love using bits and pieces of this to add on to other workouts. Jessica is friendly and has great cuing. - posted by Elaine on 12/13/2011
Great video!
I am very pleased with this video! In just a week's worth of using it, I'm already seeing results in my hips, judging by the looseness of my pants in this area (which hasn't happened before!) You may think to yourself, "10 minutes? How much of a workout could I possibly get in just 10 minutes' time?" Trust me! She kicks your butt, thighs, and belly in these 10- minute segments. I would highly suggest this video to anyone wanting to address these trouble spots. :) - posted by Gigi on 6/4/2011
Band is annoying
Work out is ok. The band pinches and doesn't stay in place...spend time working to keep it in place. Just annoying. - posted by sara on 2/10/2011
Great Exercises but
I love the exercises in this tape and do feel them working but like others have set wish there were more reps per set most only have 8-16. The loop is slightly frustrating as it would slide up and down my legs particularly in the lower body makeover and better booty camp workouts which was annnoying, my favourite is the thigh workout though, the loop is used in a figure eight formation for this and i feel my thighs burning the whole 10mins and have seen results in my outer and inner thighs, slimmer with no cellulite! All in all I still use it 2-3 times a week in conjuction with cardio dvds from 10min solution and running/swimming and cindy whitmarsh from 10min sltions target toning. A great combination. - posted by Shelbie on 1/18/2011
disappointing
The video had some excellent exercises but not nearly enough reps per set to really do much. I'm an advanced exerciser and jog/run/wts/resistance 5-7days/wk. I wanted something different and new. I much prefer Jari Love or Tracy Effinger, Cathe for a workout that leaves you burning. This exercise would be good for a beginner. - posted by Pam on 7/15/2010
HATED THE LOOP
A challenging workout-especially the abs section, but the loop was VERY annoying. It kept riding down my legs and I had to continuously stop the dvd in order to fix the hoop around my legs. Jessica has good cueing and clear instructions but not the best workout for me. - posted by Cee Doyley on 6/15/2010
Great Video
I think this video is really great. The ability to pick and choose consecutive workouts is very helpful. I highly recommend it. The band really works the lower legs and thighs. - posted by Helen on 5/7/2010
Hate the loop!!! Love the work out
This work out is great but I cant get the loop to stay in place. A great beginners work out, the moves really target those problem areas. I just hate the loop it might have been better if it was made from something else... It is constantly sliding around the whole time. - posted by Melissa on 4/29/2010
Not your usual fare
Jessica Smith has a natural way of instructing and making things interesting. Hits all muscles. Love it!! - posted by Jules C, MSW on 2/25/2010
This is a really GOOD Challenge
The first time I did this DVD, I was sore the next day, but that's a good sign that it's working! This is an excellent program. What I like most is that I can mix and match the workouts so they don't ever get boring. The band provides enough resistance and the exercises are not the "average run-of-the-mill. It's an excellent program I've used many times. - posted by Brenda on 2/17/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
